Thank you for the recommendations! One item that's really improved van life for me is my HomeFi hotspot. It's been great for staying connected with work in remote locations (I travel around the US and I've been able to use it all over the country), and it wasn't as expensive as Starlink. Thanks again for the video.

I am living in my ex ENZED truck. (Just a week in!) In Queensland and Loving the freedom. Thanks for the vid and tips. I have travelled all over the world in a Russian ex military truck. Best thing besides your tips is your accent. An Aussie vid is gold! See you around. My name is Rensina and I am 66.

I totally agree about the wipes. I don't live in a van.....but I'm 70 and taking a shower is like driving a mack truck down the interstate. Hence I use the bath or body wipes. They are a life saver for sure. People just think the only appropriate way to stay clean or be sanitary is to shower everyday......but it is fine to take care of those areas.......well you know......that really have to be cleaned on a daily basis. Two spots....three spots....we all know them!!! lol The other hacks you mentioned are really great ideas.....i agree with all of them. You did a great job with your van and look forward to seeing more videos if you have anything new coming up. Wish I had done something like this when I was much younger.....but it really wasn't a "thing" back in my day. Oh well.....another life then. Good luck.

80% shade cloth (90% too fine a gap) great for on the ground outside, doesn't hold moisture, sand falls through and it cleans your feet. If you get bogged roll it up and drive off over it.

That's awesome. Thank you so much for your tip Mick. We never thought about that one. We will have to get that one. Sounds like a multi purpose item. :)

I love that you have artwork on your walls, and wooden frames around your windows. I thought you were sitting in a sticks and bricks house lounge. In fact I thought the one behind you was a painting. Fantastic. My camper arrives in June, I’m an artist, so a blank canvas. Happy travels. X Jo from France 🇫🇷

I want to live in a van... With my wheelchairs, my 2 cats, and my crafting stuff (sewing machine and overlocker, leathercraft, art) all set up to live in there and use everything (and I know that for me a bathroom will be absolutely essential, I can't walk properly)... I have no idea how I'm going to do it yet, but I'm watching a lot of videos and trying to get ideas... And I haven't found a lot of Australian channels, either... So I've subscribed because you're in Australia and so am I. I want to learn things from you :) Next time you do a video like this, could you please try to include all the information on each item, such as price and where to get one. I like your swivel head dust pan, but I also like the long handled ones so I don't hurt my back bending down. I have an idea for my sink, I want to build a dish rack above it so it drains into the sink, and also has a door over the dish rack, so that's where the dishes belong all the time. So you just wash them and put them away to dry in there. That's what I'm going to do with mine.

Great video and tips. I use Turkish towels ('Knotty' brand), they're eco friendly but also lightweight and quick drying and can be worn as a sarong or scarf, displayed around the home or used as a picnic rug. I saw another KZbin video where a professional van builder uses magnets countersunk into the underside of the wood on the sofa chair and within the sofa cushions to keep them on in all their van builds. I noticed you had a cushion behind you, I stuff mine with my pyjamas instead of cushion filler and you can also put your jackets/coats etc. in them. You have toe kicks, turn them into drawers and they can be used for your shoes, wine bottles, cooking trays, chopping boards, lids, so many things. Not sure if you like the ideas or will use them. Thanks for listening.

Yeah I tried these but didn't find nearly as absorbent as the mf towels. Maybe if I had short hair it wouldn't be a issue but with quite long hair they just don't cut it

Great video👍👍. Just a thought that I found was really good for me when parking. I having one of those fold down cargo trailer baskets from Harbor freight.It gives me an additional 2 feet backup space when lifted in a congested street beach parking area. It works so good that I’m going to put a tow hitch inside my front bumper and do the same thing. Thus no parking issue for me ever. Something to ponder on amongst your tools bring along I absolutely love my Battery Milwaukee M18 saw saw. I primarily use the battery pack with an added accessory I bought to convert battery to a super large 5v USB portable battery. The saw in your life might be handy to cut firewood for the camp fires. Note one of the best fire pits I’ve come across is using a used washing machine barrel. There are many accessories and tools for the M 18 Milwaukee line of tools.

I love these, they're very practical. I definitely would not have thought of cutting up a coir mat for use on the step. I'm picking up my van next month (fingers crossed), and that will be one of the first modifications I'll make. How did you hang your framed pictures so that they don't move while you're driving?
@VanLifeTheory
@VanLifeTheory 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Susan, thanks for watching. The mat is a time saver. Gets all the sand off our feet before we enter. It is so good. As for the picture frames, we used command hooks. They stick on to the wall and you can easily pull them off. They do not damage the wall. We love them. All the best with your van and have a great time.
