Just a little help pronouncing those cities. Kapa'a has 3 syllables (Kah-PA-ah) as per the apostrophe separating the two vowels. Poipu has 2 (Poy-PU). Yes every vowel is pronounced, but the O and E sounds of oi are blended together, having no apostrophe separating them. Keep on enjoying these lovey places!
@AlexanderAyling5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Sherry! I know I butchered a few names, my apologies.
@lanialo24745 жыл бұрын
"Poipu" is really actually spelled like "Poʻipū", so it should be pronounced "Po-ee-poo" with 3 syllables, but it's commonly incorrectly pronounced as "Poi-pu".
@madeleinewilson67255 жыл бұрын
Also Kaua'i is "ka why ee" not "Kawhy" . I know that's a little nitpicky though

People pronounce Lihue wrong most of the time, incl. people actually living there from my experience! It's "leewhoeh"
@ziabyapah2 жыл бұрын
I know it's 2 years later and your comment has already been nitpicked enough, but it isn't an apostrophe. It's one of the thirteen letters of the Hawaiian alphabet, the okina.

Princeville resort Kauai, aka, St. Regis is full of mold and mildew. North Shore is dangerous at night especially Hanalei. Best food is served at the only gas station in Princeville. Stay away from Tweeker beach at Nawiliwili. Find McPhee's honey.....incredible. Must make reservations at Beach House Restaurant. Getting a good table is a must. DO NOT GO THRU OPEN TABLE call restaurant and request Seth or Josh. They are top servers with the good sections, so your "chances" of getting an awesome table are enhanced. Food is ........wake up at 2am and open that doggy bag up in fridge good. In the South I would highly recommend an Airbnb. One of the best is Airbnb.com/rooms/1287720, can't beat the low price of this beauty, 1 bedroom condo with pool and kitchen. Sleeps 4.

Great, informative vid. Excellent camera quality, production values, etc. For constructive criticism, I liked that you tried to pronounce the names properly. It is not easy. With video/audio editing, one could practice an infinite number of times and use the one take that sounds best. Easy fix. Also, you said that Kauai is NORTH-EAST of Oahu. Did you mean OAHU is northeast of Kauai? Lastly, your fiancé is a gorgeous person! Definitely adds to the already beautiful scenery. She's so shy, though!
