Great to see how your layout is progressing. I can relate to your lift up section as I did one couple of months ago and especially relate to the derailments, I do sympathise as they can be so frustrating. You mentioned the particular MkIV coach, may I suggest checking the back to back setting on the wheels, (Distance between the flanges), as chances are this is problem. Possibly the wheels are marginally too wide and its catching the track ends. Even 0.1mm can make all the difference. Once I realised this on my layout the trains hardly derail at all now.

John Warner Thanks, John. Yep, I thought I'd mentioned needing to regauge the wheels, just haven't had a chance. I have the tool, just need to sit down and do them all. I've got probably 30 coaches across all my HSTs now! Good thing to do on a rainy day, I guess :) I'll get there! Thanks for watching.

Thanks, Simon. Glad you found it useful. It was a little fiddly to get it all lined up smoothly, but it's worth taking your time. All the best.

would this work on a slotcar track too?

Can you tell me the type of hinge you used? I've not seen those before in the UK but they look to work a treat. (Live in Newcastle-have you actually seen the real thing at Newcastle Central?)

Hi. this looks good but there is just too much waffling going on and it could be cut down to a 2 or 3 minute video at best. You do not go into how you made it or show us any close ups of the track area where the hinges are which is most of the people's issues when lifting up the hatch where the 2 sections of track meet or don't...

How did you wire the track to continue the DCC?
@NewcastleCentralOOGauge7 жыл бұрын
If you look really quick at around 7:45 where I lift the flap up, you can some long dropper wires from each of the tracks. The positive and negative rails from all the tracks connect to the DCC bus wires that are just the other side of the benchwork. It's no different than any other dropped wires that connect to the DCC bus, they're just a few inches longer. I may drill a hole through the benchwork so it looks a little neater, but there needs to be enough slack for the tracks to be raised up like that. Works just fine. Thanks for watching!
