Thank you for your tutorial!! I made a bunch of these for gifts. One neat hint - you can open up the middle and slip a stemmed wine glass in it and the coaster will stay on your glass. Don't have to use wine charms and you can sit your stemmed glass down wherever you'd like.

Cute fabric. I use a wooden chop stick to push out the corners for the coasters and hot pads I’ve made. 🙂

Since these are coasters, shouldn't they have a filler like batting or fleece sandwiched in them. I make them with fleece in the middle.

There are several layers of fabric already so I've never found that a filler is needed; if you were going to use these or a larger one for a very hot pot etc then you might like to to put a heat reflective layer in! Mo

Hi, I was watching your tutorial and .i heard you say when you were growing up it reminds you of wooded ornaments from Germany. My question is were you over there and if so what years? I only ask because my ex-husband was in the Army and you so remind me of someone I knew back when we were over there. Thank you for a great step by step tutorial !
