I made quite a few of these, they are great. I had some extra, so I folded the narrow end about half way up. I stitched close to the folded edges, added a cam snap to the flap and made adorable giftcard holders. Thank you!

So glad to have gotten to see the video. It's been a while since I have done anything with quilting, and this would be perfect to get back into quilting and to use up a ton of materials I have, smaller size pieces that I have leftover. Thanks for the showing me just how easy, fun, doing this would be. I think too going to one of the thrift stores and buying some nice mugs, get some clear wrap paper and a twine ribbon w/ a handmade card would look nice, not tacky to give to someone or to sell at consignment shops here in my town would be nice.

This would be a fun project for children who are learning to sew and could make for mom for Mother's Day , or to make and to sell for a fund raiser!

This is so funny cuz i did this all cuz i was testing some decorative stitches out, so i did it on a sample/swatch of fabric and batting then when i was doing the binding by machine i put it on the sample to test stitches so i have and it was just laying there by my machine and i came in one day with a cup of coffee and put it on it and now its a part of my sewing area, only 2 sides are bound but it serves the purpose and realizing it been there for 2 yrs.. guess i better start watching what im doing cuz it could be trend setting.. lol

@gingertea50065 жыл бұрын
Why show us one mug rug at the beginning and then make another type? I don't understand. I wanted to make the first one that you showed
@susanwilliams15119 жыл бұрын
I am confused by the last steps. From the point at which you say to match up the seams, is the next step to pin the top and bottom together with the batting on top? That is what it appears to be. I should be able to visualize how it will look once turned but my brain just won't go there. I guess I will baste the pieces together until I get it right.
@benjjrgraham68429 жыл бұрын
+Susan Williams you're right. the batting is in place when pinning at the opening points before stitching. basically, you stitch all three layers. the two fabric sides are right sides together and the batting is on top of one of the wrong sides. when you turn it right side out after stitching around, you go between the two fabric layers and it will catch the batting putting it in the inside.

This would be a good video if it wasn't peppered full of verbal-bad-habits. Difficult to listen to people try to explain anything when you have to constantly filter out the verbal-rubbish. For example, one horrible habit that she uses repeatedly is to start a sentence, then switch her train of thought and begin another new sentence, without ever completing the first thought. Horrible!
@oldtimerlee88206 жыл бұрын
When people make such "Horrible!" comments, I sometimes check their channel to see how much better they are than the one they are criticizing. My, my, not a single video on your channel, Cheryl. I can say that you do make a great sidewalk superintendent. You've presented no evidence that you can do a better job than trying to supervise from the sidelines. Think about it...............................

I have only recently wandered into the quilting corner of KZbin and I have to say I am absolutely flabbergasted at the quantity of critical and borderline mean comments. Every time I see one of these, I make sure to leave a thank you to content creator.
