My 5 Tips for IELTS. 1.) Make sure your pronunciation is clear and easy for the examiner to understand because you can have great vocabulary and great grammar but it doesn't help at all if the examiner can't hear what you are saying! 2.) Use natural language, full of expressions and idioms! 3.) Don't try to speak too fast! 4.) Before the exam read newspapers or watch the news in English because you will prepare your brain for English! 5.) You should try to have a vocabulary of at least 4000 words if you want to achieve a good score on the reading part of the IELTS exam and understand most of what you read in English.

Anyway, I appreciate your efforts to educate people and I would really love to hear more about you from your side only. Do reply if you get time and if you find this note worth replying.

Writing and reading both deserves more and more, am gonna do my ✍️, 📖and 👂 on 24/03 just wish me good luck, and I do the same to y’all...btw this tips helps me though. Thanks

The 3rd point can be tricky because if you sound or came across as a polite/cultured person, this will require a sofisticated speech and the examiner can spot you if you don't reflect that 'sofistication' in the conversation and might be lead to think the reason for that actually lies in your language skill.

1. As soon as the payment is received. - (simple present) 2. As soon as the payment has been received. - (past perfect) The structure of the past perfect tense is subject + had + past participle. How can we say that the second sentence is past perfect? I am a beginner. Please clarify my doubt.
@Matricula4049 жыл бұрын
Ajish T . Let me add some points. The first one is simple present in deed, but also is passive voice. Tht's why it has the verb to be, plus the main verb in past participle. The second one is also past perfect in passive voice. The key is that both of them are in passive voice. If you wanted to make a sentence in : 1. Present simple: Maria is my sister 2. Past perfect: She has been a good friend also. Regards.

Ajish T The second one is Present Perfect ("has + pp", not "had + pp")

Great video and very helpful. I would just disagree with asking the examiner to repeat something because if someone asks the examiner to repeat and then they still don't understand the question after it is repeated, then what? Always ask if the question can be explained in another or different way. That way, you are not in an awkward position in the event that you still don't understand something after it is repeated as you requested.
@vanux8 жыл бұрын
Michael, it is a given to assume that the candidate is under enormous amounts of stress, we examiners know that, and as such it is more than plausible that the candidate due to stress or some other unrelated factor misheard a word, in that case the candidate has 2 options with its inevitable consequences. I have to emphasize that the vocabulary used and the way to go about are of the essence. To me there are only 2 scenarios. If the candidate didn't understand the question for stress related factors then this is the quieston: Scenario 1) Excuse me sir/madam I missed part of that last question (don't say why). Could you repeat that question for me please????? The examiner here understands the stress factor and will repeat the question slower and more vocalized. No penalization will be reflected on your mark sheet. Sorry for not going on to the scenario number 2. This reply to comment section has a word count restriction, thus this is as far as I'll go. Good luck to all of you...!!!!
