there is no magikarp salesman in ruby/sapphire/emerald, or the remakes. i dont know what that part is referring to

He's probably from another timeline. Or he's doing it so that we help the youtube algorithm benefit him. Either way he's playing us like damn fiddles.

Maybe he mixed up the Magikarp man with the Stone seller?

I grinded that Magikarp until I got a gyarados in route 3, worth it lol

Think about it this way: if you save beforehand, for 500 pokedollars you can get a magikarp with good stats and nature, which you can train and evolve way sooner. It takes some time, but you can end up with a gyarados in your team before battling Misty

I know she's likely making a dirty joke, but I like to think she just has Pokeball hairclips and her hair also hides them.

I usually leave that magikarp in the Day Care and return back after beating the elite 4

8:42 For what it's worth, back then & in Sinnoh, & even in present day, not everyone has a Pokedex, let alone knows about every Pokemon; Most trainers probably haven't heard of a Heatran & don't know what it is, so they might not realize it's special. Heck, it's trainer might not either. Anyway, okay analysis video. Thanks for uploading!

Gyrados is top 5 in gen 1, so for 500 thats not bad at all. Just drop him off at the daycare and complete diglett tunnel

I like how the Magikarp salesman isn't doing a scam in Unova because Magikarps aren't native to Unova and without trading or transferring you will need to buy one from him to actually get Gyarados.

Magikarp purchase is worth it. 200 more than a pokeball, dont have to waste item slot/storage on old rod (rby), earlier gyarados
@nikor.5907Ай бұрын
In the first gen games the magikarp is a steal IF you grind it. In the remakes its a bit meh cos of spcl att nerf, but the attack is still crazy.

3:30 girl isn't avoiding you more than every single npc that walks on their own, also you are stuck on the follow me routine so you can't open the menu to save.

Wait, the magikarp salesman is the one who caused Jessie's lickiting to be traded with Wobbuffet?
@nihildwo487420 күн бұрын
yes. that episode took place in a festival where there was a trade machine. the original owner of the wobbuffet (character of the day) wanted to trade it for something else but no one wanted to trade with him. ash and his friends helped the guy find someone to trade for wobbuffet. They eventually found someone willing to trade, but the guy changed his mind last second, leaving the character of the day on his own, with wobbuffets pokeball on the trading block. The magikarp salesman was also at the festival and james encountered him again. James recognized him and wanted to expose him as a scammer, and the guy packed his things and run away before people got wind. In this process he bumped into jessie, who was near to the trading machine, and bumped her into it. In this process, she dropped the pokeball with lickitung on the other trading block and the trade between the pokemon did happen. Jessie noticed the commotion around james and did not notice the trade actually happened. She grabbed the ball and quickly left - only to be surprised by not having lickitung come out of the pokeball later in the episode Ash and his friends later reunited with the character of the day, who told him "about the nice lady who was willing to trade her lickitung. Sadly she left quickly before he could say thanks". Ash and his friends ended up adding 2 and 2 together but didn t tell the boy who the original owner was.

no 1: no i do not agree it's a rioff i've had magicarps scosting me 3 pokeballs before and yes even 5 and thus those actually costed me more than what the npc asked. no 5: wow it's almost as if you have to goout of your way for that to happen and nnot like most players actually heal in Petalburg before you face dear old dad and actually deliberately go heal in Dewford town... and so while it can be done 99 out of a 100 players if not 99999 out of 100000 wouldn't do that acidentally... i mean who would think oh let's heal a town away in a waterlogged town before facing the 5th gym leader...(i can see though in later playtroughs curiosity getting better but in normal circumstances...) no 8: i think this guy gives away breedjects and i bet he wants a perfect stsat Tentacool (unles i'm mistaken that HGSS didn't have that mechanic already)
