I’m a single mom/massage therapist and I only work for myself. so I’ve decided in 2019 every massage I do 10% will go into my savings. I also have my accounts set up to deposit 5 dollars everyday into my savings. I’m challenging myself to put 350 to 400 a month into my savings.

I have a holiday fund and a Christmas fund envelope for the reason is I dont want to use my Christmas fund money to go see lights, to buy Christmas lights, decorations , or do Christmas actives with my Christmas fund that is only for gifts, I don’t want to take away from gift money, that is why I have a holiday fund, which includes Valentine’s Day, Easter, 4 th If July, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas! I use this for any thing that is needed for that holiday, for instance I use my holiday fund to buy Halloween costumes, candy, decorations, etc for Thanks giving I by food if I do a dish to pass or anything like that! 2different funds is what I have, that’s how I save! I have a gifts and graduation fund for weddings, birthdays, baby showers, anniversaries, etc and if any one is graduating in the family . I keep everything separate . I have a envelope for Family fun includes, picnic, parades, pot lucks if It is for a cook out! Picnics I use it for raffle tickets and anything like that! Fairs, water parks are all includes in that ! I don’t like taking money out of holiday fund or anything like that! Rainy day fund, vacation, travel fund is different then vacation, I use travel fund if we are driving , that is for gas, hotel, site seeing if you have to pay to get in some where, for silvinours , a snacks or eating at a restaurant! Etc! My vacation is if I’m flying, it is for tickets, place to stay groceries, entertainment fees to go places, silverniours etc! To do things ! School fund, pet fund car repair fund, house fund, household fund, I use to buy paper towels toilet paper etc I don’t use grocery money for that because I don’t want to cheat my family out of food! This is how I save on everything!

I just want to share that some people, who may be on specific dietary restrictions, may not be able to participate in the "no" brand challenge. While one brand includes things the person cannot have, another brand will exclude those. Anyone who may have these issues, will need to continue with their brand. But I'm sure in other areas they can still find ways to change out their brand. I have heard horror stories about Aldi TP though. Don't do it! LOL This is just a reminder for anyone who might get stuck on the idea that they have to do/try this "no brand" challenge, but then feel guilty perhaps b/c they have to have a certain brand due to the ingredients. It's ok to stay with that brand. Again, find other areas in life that you can try out different brands. :) I generally like most of the ideas from this and plan to use some myself. Can't wait to see how it goes!
@visitor37566 жыл бұрын
madnessofmymind I tried one brand of the Aldi TP but found out it was comparable to Scott's. Which I don't like but know people who do. I found out it does come from the same factory My spouse is in transportation and found out. I've yet to try the other version but plan on it. I am not a brand snob. I do get mine from Sams club brand and have been happy with it.

Eating from "what you have on hand" is deceptive. At one time.or another you had to buy more than you needed therefore wasting money at that time that you took advantage of when you did not grocery shop. It sort of worked out the same. You just spent the money for those unneeded groceries earlier and used those groceries later instead of at purchase.
