I am amazed that none of you guys have installed a desalination system like the RAINMAN system. That will allow you to carry way less water, and fill up ANYWHERE - fresh/brackish/salt water, and means you can stay anywhere for a much longer time. That is the FIRST modification I am adding to my NPS build!. P.S: Love your build!....
@exploringoffthegrid Жыл бұрын
Gday mate, yes have been looking into them and hoping to put one in the next build 👍
@mrkanangra Жыл бұрын
@@exploringoffthegrid Awesome. They are perhaps a game changer in remote touring. I would recommend RAINMAN. I have zero affiliation with them but have friends who use them of yachts and love them. Seems like a no brainer for a remote 4WD setup.

I love the truck set up, trucks are superior to any 4wd for long distance travel, pretty much everywhere but high country, where the tracks are narrow. The only problem with this type of setup is that you need to be 2.2m tall to comfortably use the kitchen and prep table. In case of the Unimog you need a scaffold to reach the fridge on the tray🤣

new subscriber ,glad to be here ,WOW what an amazing setup bud ,im near 70 and as a young fella i saved up a bit of money in the mid late 1970s and i wanted to go bush and see our beautiful country ,i bought a second hand Nissan Patrol 1967 model left from Melbourne and i thought i was pretty well setup as i had a tent a sleeping bag change of clothes and a lil caravan fridge 2nd spare a well equipped tool box a chainsaw room for 80 litres water and a small second petrol tank ,i thought i was pretty flash with my setup ,how times have changed ,your a top operator and with a heap of experience id say ,well done

I have used them in my droving camps for years I know how to sort most of the problems out unless you dump a load of cash they are going to have some issues number 1 is getting the torque delivery right the first thing I do is the exhaust and fuel pump and injectors once you power them up they are awesome for towing and the 4x4 will make towing up dirt tracks easy the ride is the biggest issue and for that reason they are not suitable as a travel vehicle I am going to help a mate fit air bags on his dual cab Mitsubishi like we have on bigger truck cabin's yeah awesome tow truck just don't push it

Currently in the process of fitting out our new canopy in our truck, and are going the way of the Milwaukee packout gear, lightweight, super convenient in a different amount of sizing, and allows me to remove the tools etc from the truck when we are back home to utilise back in the shed. Highly rate it, I know a few other builds that have utilised it also to good effect.

I have own a few i know the bad point's they are an awesome little truck with the right exhaust and fuel modifications sort the torque out awesome as for a travel vehicle and 4x4 my last choice you will end up with back problem's the roof needs to be raised so suspension seats can be fitted and some air bags under the cabin getting Off a muddy building site is about the 4x4 capacity of them providing they have a front diff lock don't drive over 80km or it will destroy top gear
