@5:00 The trouble is that war often isn't fought on the open fields but in the streets of the cities, and also as you noted they dont all explode. For example NATO used those bombes while bombing my country, Serbia, and we still have land mines issue in some areas. They once dropped a cluster bomb on an outside market place because they thought it was something else or whatever and for example one of these bombes killed Milica Rakic aged 3 while bombing an airport near her house....

"Humane" weapons are meant to kill the enemy as efficiently and quickly as possible without causing unnecessary suffering, "inhumane" weapons cause unnecessary suffering and usually lead to slow, painful deaths. Inhumane weapons are also weapons that largely effect the civilian population, such as old leftover land mines still maiming and killing civilians well after the war is over.

Graphite bombs were also considered illegal and inhumane by some war agreements, but nato still threw them on Serbia, along with cluster bombs on cities. Many civilians, as you said died. 9:37 TOS-1 Translated as heavy flame thrower. It's a flamethrower. But unusual. Flamethrowers used to spit out a stream of napalm. Now the combustible mixture was enclosed in a cylinder and the rocket engine was screwed on. The latest version flies 16 kilometers. The explosion turns out to be a volumetric thermobaric one. That is, a combustible aerosol is sprayed and ignited. Combustion temperature - aluminum melts. All oxygen burns out, so there is nothing to breathe. During the explosion, two shock waves are formed - the first is the same as in a conventional explosion from the center outward, and the second, after the combustion of the aerosol, a vacuum is formed and the wave rushes from the outside to the inside. It is impossible to hide either in a cave or in a bunker, the temperature, lack of oxygen for breathing and two blast waves - the vessels of the body burst due to sudden and large pressure drops. It was first developed and applied in the mountains of Afghanistan in the 80s.

The reason these weapons get banned and called "inhumane" is because even though, yes, you're out to kill (or neutralize) your enemy it's still expected to be done in a humane way. As in quick with as little suffering as possible. If you're forced to kill (like in war) then do it quickly so the victim doesn't suffer any more than is absolutely necessary.

@@jlopez3a It’s def weird but u have to look at it in the way that those soldiers fighting did nothing to wrong the country they’re at war with personally, they only fight for their own country and thus there’s no reason to make their deaths anymore painful than it will be. It’s a fact that people die in war but there’s no need to rub salt in the wound.

You are not all of the way there. One of the things that classifies something as inhumane is after the war. Cluster Bombs leave unexploded bomblets everywhere. After the war people run into the unexploded bombs , they are civilians, and they explode on them. It kills civilians, like unexploded landmines. I grew up on the Military Channel. Only when I got older did I realize it's a recruiting tool. I had the exact blinders on they wanted for a long time that "The only thing that matters is your gun". 5:06 landmines haven't been totally banned, nor are cluster munitions. The biggest reason of why use of cluster munitions are discouraged is that there are certain bomblets that don't explode and then explode when a civilian disturbs them. In WW2, Vietnam war, etc. these were very deadly for the civilians who didn't know what they were. Recently, Azerbaijan used cluster munitions against Armenian city, luckily no one was killed as none of them were outside (there are videos of it). Certain weapons are banned because of their collateral damage, and/or the way it makes people suffer with/without killing them (e.g., white phosphorus, chemical weapons, bio weapons, eye-blinding lasers, etc.)

The ban on cluster munitions isn't to be "humane" to enemy soldiers. The things were a massive problem AFTER conflicts. With hundreds of bomblets per weapon, there's a ludicrously high chance that some of them will not go off. A bomb looks like a bomb, there's not much chance anyone will pick that up and fuck with it afterwards, when it doesn't go off. But these things just look like steel balls. There's been plenty of cases of civilians getting seriously wounded or killed by previously unexploded bomblets. That's not even getting into dropping tiny mines over several hundred square meters....

Fun fact, lasers in any form, are banned from warfare according to the Geneva Conventions. The inhumane act of using them to blind your enemy (maiming them and leaving them crippled without fully intending to kill them right away or essentially execute them on the field of battle) is something that was apparently thought up and added. Which means James Bond can never start a war officially otherwise Moonraker is a war crime. . . . and Golden Eye. . . and just about every other Bond film when scrutinized with IRL laws, but yeah, no clusters, no land mines, no lasers, or else no (humane) war. Also, I'm sorry that I'm an American and I'm hearing your guys accents a certain way, but did anyone else think when they were saying they were still getting oil from the North Sea that they were saying the Nazi? I had to pause and listen to it again, but yeah; North Sea pronounced like "Nauh See".

There are more modern weapons: Avangard, Kinzhal, Neptune, Cirkon, Perimeter

Kinzhal missile is not that advanced it similar to American based air launched Ballistic missile and it is not hypersonic missile based on glide vehicle so you cannot call it advanced as US made first Air launched Ballistic missile.

@@RichardLionheart12 Kinzhal is not ballistic. And it is hypersonic. And it is required 1st stage to accelerate. 1st stage must to have not hyper, but over sonic speed. This is why they use Mig-31 as 1st stage US is not even close to make such fast and precise weapon

Джеймс Кэмерон придумал Терминатора..... хмммм а русские не знали, что это была фантастика, и сделали его по настоящему. James Cameron came up with the Terminator..... hmmm and the Russians didn't know it was fantastic, and they made it for real.
