When my babies were small, 40 -50 years ago, I was advised to put them out in their prams every day when it wasn't lashing down with rain here in England. We used to get a gift pack too, but no box/crib back then. That's a really good idea. The generation before mine, used to put baby in a drawer to sleep while it was very small, but mine had a Moses basket that I redecorated for each baby. Our office was much more formal and stuffy than you describe, with the boss in a separate office. We would knock on the door and wait to to be invited in. Of course, I'm very out of date being quite old. There seems to be a lot of 'working from home' now, and 'on-line meetings'. Finland looks a beautiful country to live in, with a very relaxed and respectful culture. The cat seems content with life too.

Kuro is so adorable❤️ the apartment looks so cosy with your candies and lighting. Creates such a calm and relaxing space. I see you moved the table back to the kitchen I think it was a good choice. The autumn colours are so vibrant and stunning in Finland. The Nordic countries have so many great practices in the workplace, towards childcare and Life work balance. We can learn a lot from this. I know Finland has been very effective in solving homelessness. It’s no wonder Finland ranks very high in happiness . The liquorice candy sounds really good I like salty things. I look forward to more videos Kiitos for sharing. 😊

As office workers in France, we only have 2 to 3 weeks of summer holidays. And a week's holiday to enjoy Christmas with friends and family. The working day starts at 9am and ends at 5pm for most employees, with the exception of engineers who work longer hours, until 6pm. As the French are very particular about food, we have fixed and regular lunchtimes, from 12pm to 2pm. Normally, no meeting or work related activity allowed during this lunch break

Well I think knitting in a meeting almost shows a bit that your mind is somewhere else. I think many of those ideas are such fantastic thoughtful self caring ideas. I love that is part of the team. I don’t generally eat my lunch/breakfast until 11 Canada we do many of those other things, but some things we are very archaic about, you seem to be very switched on to personal needs and thoughtfulness of others. I love the idea of a quiet room in an office. I would love to have 4 to 6 weeks of vacation in the summer.

I knew about some of these habits but not all of them. Like swimming in freezing cold water after sauna and leaving babies outside to sleep, I believe the Danish do that too. I love all of these traditions, my only regret is that I wasn't born in a Nordic country. I love how your societies are egalitarian without the unjust hierarchies that most countries seem to have. I follow quite a few KZbinrs from Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark and I have learned so much from them, like how to minimise and organise my home and how to make it more cosy. I also take a lot of inspiration from your examples of slowing down and enjoying life, relationships and nature more. I love Kuro. My cats are called Fluffy and Evie. ❤

What I liked the most is starting a working day early. It is really appreciated. 👍 Luckily, I apperently can somehow adjust my working hours (thanks to my management) but in the majority of cases there's no way. About 4 years ago I wrote an article about it (unfortunately, I didn't translate it, it's in Ukrainian only). And, as I see, despite not many people agree with me, I am not alone who thinks this way 😉

I love your goofy cat!! I don't think these ideas are weird. I believe it's good for employees to be relaxed at work, do what helps them to focus and be encouraged to speak up to share ideas without being judged or ridiculed by other employees in the workplace. In my opinion, that's a good work life balance in the Nordics. Here in the States there are many employees who are toxic in the workplace and bully other employees. Bosses are not seen and rarely heard from. I have experienced this, so I know how this feels. I also like quiet rooms in the workplace because it helps workers to relax if they are going through something or maybe just to take a break for a few minutes. I like the Nordic habits!! Thanks for sharing. I'm learning from you more about Nordic life. ❤️💞

No, they sound very egalitarian and humane. I worked over 45 years in the nonprofit sector. The silent room makes sense to me, also hours too. I see you have a diffuser on your window ledge, also a cat. I hope you've checked that the oil you are diffusing is cat safe - there are many that aren't and can potentially be lethal to cats, as they can't process the oils that land on them from the air. not wanting to scare, just please be careful. I have seen press reports lately of a cat who passed away from this problem. blessings x
