Gran Turismo 2 was out of this world for a Ps1 game, the number of cars, customization, the explanations of every car upgrade, shortcuts into menues,the number of races, the possibility to trade cars... It had it all! I would love a remastered version of this game!

The Michelin, McRae 1+2, and VR2 look the best here as far as physics and handling goes. Currently enjoying Rush Rally 3 and Rush Rally Origins on the Switch. They're GREAT games.

Man, never heard if Tommi Makinen Rally, but the thing looks real good for PlayStation standards; Just look at all the dynamic reflections on display, seriously, look at the vehicles window, it's unbelievable!

I wouldn’t recommend trying a game just because it’s pretty. Bad physics can totally ruin an experience. If you’re gonna get it, try to keep it cheap Sincerely, someone who has played Alfa Romeo Racing (PS2), DT Racer (PS2), Corvette Evolution GT (PS2), and Rally Cross (PS1)

V-Rally 2 was literally my childhood, I am 16 currently. I think I had one of the best introductions to gaming lol. Since 6 years old I played that shit all the time! I still jump on for a few runs nowadays, that 22b Subaru is one hell of a car!!

That Rally de Europe looks very much like a more realistic version of Sega Rally. Looks neat, Never heard of it before and seems a rare find.

it is indeed a rare game. Made by Prism Arts, a seemingly obscure Japanese game developer, and a sequel to Rally de Africa. I've played both and both games had a very different difficulty gap. Rally de Africa was an absolute breeze while Rally de Europe is bloody hard so to say.

I have Rally de Europe and still keep it. It's a fun series, but need an extreme concentration and accuracy on turning since their tracks were very narrow Sega Rally. Often led to an inability to overtake.

Mobil 1 Rally Championship is an underrated game. I'm not saying it's CMR2, or even CMR1, level but it's a decent game. Really well illustrated. It has the British Rally Championship license and all sorts of tracks and cars that aren't found in the more popular games. The only issue, iirc - it's been a few years, is that on certain courses it felt like there was a magnet on either side of the road pulling you to that side the moment you departed the center line.

Very nice video, some of these are pretty good. I played V-Rally 2 the most. On those times there where two rally games variants: with oponents like a classic racing game or alone, getting the best times. The graphics of the second group where a little better because they where not drawing the graphics not processing the AI of the opponents.

I've always preferred the stage rally type games over the more rallycross inspired ones. Not having to start at the back of the pack and deal with clunky AI opponents counts for a lot. Haha. Just me vs. the track. The way it should be.

Just a reminder, in the United States V-Rally was marketed as Need For Speed V-Rally, likely for marketing purposes, except for the Dreamcast version of V-Rally 2 which was for some reason called Test Drive V-Rally. They stopped doing that when they reached 3. Btw did you know V-Rally 4 is available for PS4 and Switch? My work here is done

No Rally De Africa and Rally De Europe are from Prism Arts. Completely different people. They are apparently an auto parts company that decided to expand into software. The first game they made (don’t remember the name) was an absolutely awful Ridge Racer clone. Then they set their sights on Sega Rally, and actually made a really good clone, which might actually be better than home consoles versions of Sega Rally at the time. Rally De Europe was their last game and then they just went back to auto parts

There were several Rally games that had the Vauxhall Astra "Kit Car", which sorta looks like a touring car... and, of course, Gran Turismo 2 had several Opel/Vauxhall touring cars, but I can't remember if it allowed you to run them on the rally stages...

V rally 2 is an interesting game they were really pushing a lot of visual details including car damage and environments and time of day also lighting. It's similar to Colin McRae rally 2.0 Meanwhile GT2 focused on the car and the simulation, you can tell the environments are very bland.
