I got a Spin Clean some years ago. That along with Some of Toppers tips have gotten me good results. Back around 1971-72 I had a device that would turn the lp between brushes with a motor. Wish I still owned that antique! Hey even brand new records can sound like rice chrispys! Heck yeah!🖖🚀

Topper was a big influence, more ways than one. Sometimes I get so excited with a new record I don't clean it first but after a pop or crackle it's off and getting cleaned🍻

Aloha, That Old Goat's Vinyl, Thanks Don for your demo on how you clean your record albums .. I too used the painting fiber brush on really Old dirty records. I then would use, a Vinyl Vac. Which work great. Then I saw the Hummin guru as a start up company & yes as a start-up it was under $200.00. But once it started regular production prices went up. I now have a Hummin Guru... its great but on old extra dirty record albums, I still use a fiber paint brush Then I put it in the Hummin guru... Don thanks for a very informative video on how you clean your record albums...And the equipment you use. I might get my self a "Vinyl style" cleaner, I love doing the motion to keep busy....feels like you're getting more gunk out when doing by hand. Looking forward to watching your next videos.... The goat hair brushes do a great job. Cleaning is a big controversy but as long as we have clean records with a great sound that's all that matters. Thanks for watching Ed🍻

Right on! Yeah, I think using both can help on some records. That’s nice though, put 7 records on there and walking away! I got some records where using the goat hair helped a ton, but I think with an ultrasonic, I could get some more improvements on it. I used the goat hair on my UK Camel “The Snow Goose” and I had a skip on the 2nd to last song on side B. I did another cleaning with the goat hair, and spun it 40 times on each side, flipped and spun it more. Man, it sounded better and there was no skip! So a couple cleanings with the goat hair really helped.

Sometimes the goat hair is amazing but there are a few I've cleaned a few times but they were beyond help. Hope your concert is great!🍻🍻

I've used the paint trimmer brush method, introduced to me by Topper, until I got the Vinyl Styl on your recommendation. They work fine, not the best, but they work. I agree about the residue left behind by the cleaning solution. Distilled water and a little of alcohol is the best. I always did 10 to 12 spins one way then the other on the vinyl sty. Then rinse of course. A Sonic cleaner would be nice but the price is still holding me back. I don't think there is any system that will completely get all of the grit and gunk out of the grooves. Unless they invented some microscopic robots to do the job. 😅 Until then we'll have to deal with a little rice crispies. 😂😅 I'm just being an A-hole.

Great video Don, I have a Spin Clean system but I also make my own solution using Photoflo, Distilled Water & Isopropyl Alcohol. Seems to work good but I’m ALWAYS considering an easier option

I was doing the exact same thing you did about cleaning. Ive been kicking around an ultra sonic cleaner for sometime. But financially it was out of my budget. I haven’t got one yet. I use a two step on a very dirty record. 1. I use a vinyl vac and their solution. Rinse with distilled water. 2. Spin and clean with their solution. On not so dirty records i use the spin and clean. But you may have made me reconsider. We will see. Enjoyed the video.
