I personally really enjoy a loud drag. Without it, it's like having quiet sex. Nothing beats hearing the drag clicker scream when the fish pulls hard. I would've chosen the Aldebaran drag as the winner. It's loud enough, not too metallic sounding, not too plastic sounding, perfect pitch, and each click of the drag can be heard. Companies really need to put clicking drags in more reels. It's also practical too. When you are fighting a fish, hearing the drag go off lets you know if that fish is peeling line and how fast the line is coming off. Since bass fishing isn't known for ripping line off your reel like other types of fishing, when that happens you don't have to keep checking on your reel and you can just keep your eyes on the water.

Grew up saltwater fishing and every reel has a clicker but they're actually a switch on the side, usually the left side that you can turn on and off. So when you have live or cut bait out you can turn the drag back a little so your pole doesn't fly away and then as soon as you hear the clicking noise, I usually thumb the spool set the hook tighten the drag back the same amount that I losened it. I always turn the clicker back off almost immediately, cuz it's annoying. The whole purpose is just to alert you that you're getting a bite... click click click click click click.... zing ! LoL

I think there may still be a little confusion on the difference between a clicking drag and a bait clicker. If I am correct, bait clickers or (bite alerts) can be turned on and off by a switch. However when in the on position they click any time the spool is in motion. They work great for alerting a bite. But I find it annoying when retrieving so I turn it off for the retrieve. A clicking drag on the other hand cannot be turned on and off but is only audible when the fish is taking drag and not during the entire retrieve. I personally would like to see more clicking drags available in larger low profile baitcaster for bigger cats that would hold a decent amount of line. I find it frustrating to find a good quality reel for this application. It seems that most of the clicking drags are only available on smaller sizes or BFS reels.

I used to like the clicking drag when I first had one. My first reel with the clicking drag was a Revo elite 8. Lol whenever I caught fish people look over at me like as if my reel is broken 😂 now and days I would prefer it without the clicking drag

There’s also the Daiwa Morethan that has the clicking drag. Basically the saltwater version of the steez. Pretty aggressive styling and I think it sounds awesome. Would definitely recommend!

I like to fish the surf with large low profile bait casters. I wish there were more 300-400 size bait low profile casters with a clicker switch. I have a Lew’s Super Duty 300 that has a click drag. But I’d rather have click switch, it’s a lot louder.

There are several drag clicker kits that you can install yourself available on eBay. Personally I have a casitas Mgl, shimano core 50mg7 and a aldebaran bfs Ltd that have drag clickers installed.

Bait casting drags sound horrible but it’s better than nothing. One of the reasons why I prefer spinning reels. I love that audible click with a fish is peeling drag.

The Tatula CT and newer Tatula 100 are both great all-round bass reels for the money especially when you find them around $100, but there isn't anything really special about them. They are pretty good at everything but not great at anything except value.

oh, my budget is a not too good so when i buy a reel, i alway check on other review, i am a guy who love small jighead and vib lures. so i think the Tatula would help me cast better at small bait around 1/5 oz to half oz alway on a Medium action rod with 1.5 PE braid My kastking Valiant Eagle could cast small bait, but i thinking to change into a Daiwa Tatula

i think the best way is to see if another reel within the same brand has a clicking drag, then buy the pieces. But there are some people out there making clicking drags for certain reels, I just dont know of any specifically
