@@Inflec As someone with ASPD I can assure you we are not one in the same. Sociopaths can actually feel some emotions and empathy. Psychopaths however are almost entirely devoid of it and enjoy the process of manipulating people. Sociopaths don't manipulate to cause harm intentionally as psychopaths do. Sociopaths often struggle with life, as have I. It's not easy not being able to connect on a deep emotional level, but it's not impossible. There's been only one girl in my life I actually got attached too, however my anti-social personality makes it difficult for the relationship to last, and eventually I become over bearing as I cannot control the flood of emotion that happened during this time. It was the only time in my life I felt alive. She's gone now though, won't speak to me. I don't really care much for anything else anymore.

Too complicated . A real sociopath is networking to secure and advance themselves on the Status ladder (psychologically and literally) and are on the lookout for flaws or information by another person that can be used to degrade that person usually using humorous ridicule behind that persons back if an when needed. Yes of course they will lie but only when they know it can't be proved and change sides when really necessary. They are a lot more cunning and instinctive than this video portrays.

Everything is accurate. But, pscycopaths and narcissists have the same traits. It could be confusing to tell the difference. In my opinion, this video needs a little more to differ for the two mentioned above. For instance, sociopaths are more explosive than pscychopaths. And unlike narcissists they wont mess with you if you dont mess with them. You dont even exist to sociopaths and pscycopaths if you dont have any of interest for them. Unlike a narcissist, if they see you as a threat, they will try to eliminate you. I know this from personal experience. I have four narcissists in my famiy.

As someone who was diagnosed with ASPD I can 100% confirm these r all real sociopathic signs but coming from my perspective we don't all mean harm and mean evil it's how our brains r wired I wanna get attached to my friends but it feels impossible to form a real bond hell it even feels impossible to form a bong wit family members I wanna keep a job and make a good career for myself but it bores me very easily I wanna feel and relate to ppl but sometimes I truly just can't bring myself to actually care about what they're saying trust me I fucking wish I didn't have to live wit this shit I'm not dogging the creator on how he made it out like were bad guys bc even if we don't believe it we kinda can be but some ppl wanna be normal but they just aren't and most the time it stems from deep rooted trauma great vid nonetheless tho I enjoyed it it's very accurate to atleast my symptoms and how I am as a person without the sinister undertone
@Theendman422 жыл бұрын
I would assume you had a relatively stable upbringing then. The problem is, that there is a lot we don't know about the development/causes of antisocial personality disorder. Not all with ASPD will become serial killers. There is some experience and research that indicates a lack of physical touch early on in life, 0-1.5 years of age I believe the range is, can severely alter the nervous system, with a lack of vasopressin release to tune the nervous system, plus the stress of not having needs met, can leave it being muted. Babies who experience this no longer react instinctively to pain. Therefore you get the "lack of care," present in ASPD. But there are also potential genetic factors that could contribute to it as well. It's a complicated thing. Videos like this are designed for clicks, suitable for surface-level suggestions for signs, but that's it.

@@Theendman42 Not all? Try most won't. Most sociopaths are not criminals. Also, most serial killers and killers in general are psychopaths. There's a big difference. Psychopaths just simply cannot connect with people at all, and get thrills from manipulating others, sometimes even harming people. Not saying there isn't sociopath killers, but most sociopaths simply are not. ASPD can be exasperated from trauma as well. If you were already pre-disposed for it and go through very extreme trauma, your anti social behavior sky rockets. I was raped by my brother growing up, was bullied throughout my entire childhood, got addicted to meth/heroin, but it was when I accidentally killed someone driving high that sent me over the edge. There have only been a few people in my life I actually have connected with and became attached too, but it's a very selfish form of it. I am not mean or cruel, in fact I am down right too nice because I am desperate to keep them with me. Eventually things deteriorate because I become an emotional burden because I can't control my emotional states in relationships. Again, never am mean or violent, I despise violence actually. Most notably I don't really care about most people in my life. Most of my family I can't stand... Most of my friends I can't stand either. It's lonely...

So I listen and smile and nod my head, and the instant they walk away, I wipe them and our conversation away like a milk mustache. They think they've " touched my heart " when in reality they have had no effect on me, my life or my decisions. It's taken me 65 years to get here. ALOT of pain in my youth. Not really their fault. We are who we are. No grudges. I've just learned to take things and humans as they come. It's up to me to protect myself. I just prefer to do it with a smile. Have an incredible day. EVERYDAY!!!

It’s unfortunate when that person happens to be a family member. I feel pulled in different directions during inflated family drama. My instinct is to be honest about my perspective, but that tends to escalate it. If I simply affirm everything, I keep the peace, but I’m sacrificing true nature to seek truth. I don’t agree with the model of “cutting out all toxic people.” It sounds like the easier choice, but not the right one.

@@theosaka69 That's very very true. Sociopaths lack a conscious whereas narcissists have over inflated egos and extremely low ability tolerate shame of any kind. Narcissism is different on the other hand as narcissism is the direct of result poor parenting.
@angelic_bloodbath Жыл бұрын
@@happycat0411wrong. Psychopaths are rooted in genes, because as the name claims, it's a *psycho*path. Sociopaths can have a predisposition, but are generally created due to trauma, so not genetically bound. There are three types of sociopaths. Those hotheads like from the movies that go around a cause chaos, sociopaths who simply enjoy chaos, though as an observational hobby whilst not being involved unless required, and who use the disorder as sort of a superpower, where they make good connections, and even can make friends. To elaborate, sociopaths can understand emotions very well and can feel them, though extremely shallowly, because they had emotions but something cut them off. There is also a high chance that a sociopath is unable to communicate their own emotions. Same goes for empathy, though if they feel it it's usually rationalised and not, well, "emotional". These are self aware, high-functioning sociopaths. And yeah, there's the third kind, those that are ashamed, as per say, of themselves, hence they turn to therapy because they want to escape it. Then again, there are obviously those with a predisposition, who've learned emotions to fit in. A friend of mine is a sociopath, a predispositioned one, I believe, who studies psychology and is very good at it, a natural. He claims that there's chance that I'm a high-functioning one, in a way partially confirming my self diagnosis.

I once asked my father a similair thing. I told him “What if I am a sociopath without knowing, and that I think that my reality is the normative experience, but I have actually just been using everyone around me for my own sake without understanding it? What if I am unintentionally hurting others?!” He literally bellylaughed and asked me what made me think so, had I recognized myself on the symptoms? I told him, “yes, but only a few that I ‘till now had assumed was just a normal part of the human experience” (Like giving compliments all the time because you want to make people feel seen and welcome in their own lives, and having a hard time creating routines = learning from mistakes. I have later on been diagnosed with adhd, which explains that latter symptom.) My father said: “Well, everyone has good and bad sides to them. Some of these symptoms can be present in a person for completely other reasons. Having most of these symptoms however, paints a pattern that can be describes as Sociopathyic tendencies. But one things a sociopath would never be able do is what you are doing now. You are so sincerely worried for potentially having hurt someone that it makes you emotionally stressed, meaning you deeply care of how other people feel not just about how you are percieved by them, A sociopath actually wouldn’t care very much about how they potentially have hurt someone, and they would thus probably never feel compelled to ask themselves these hard questions. Many sociopath have something in common with narcissists too, where they are completely uninterested in and unwilling to entertain a narrative where THEY could be “the bad guy” or someone who has a negative effect on others. Maintaining their own egos intact is so important to them that even the thought of them being the problem is absolutely unthinkable to them. They have a warped sense of reality, and would rather demonize everyone else in their lives than see that they are the common thread to the patterns in their own lives. So the fact that you are 1, willing to ask these questions about yourselves, and 2, able to care of how you affect others, means that you probably don’t have anything like this. Also, I have been your father all your life and I have never seen anything that has given me cause to worry about this at all. Rather the opposite. You would rather let someone think what they want of you than go argue and force them to see you in a perfect light. You shy away from conflicts and you care about your friends enough to have kept most of them since childhood. You know how to give and take, not just take. You can receive criticism without feeling attacked. You can address your own shortcomings instead of trying to cover them up, and you take responsibility when something goes wrong instead of pointing fingers only at everyone else.” I hope this summary of my conversation with my dad can be helpful to you too. I realized he was right: even if I have a few of the symptoms there, the main concerns of “being willing to use others to satisfy my own needs” or “not caring if I hurt someone if I get what I wanted” or “gaining/maintaining relationships in order to rise in the social” doesn’t fit me at all. It’s like when we have a physical symptom, say stomach pain, and we Google it and end up suspecting that we have cancer. The only symptom that matches is stomach pain, and there can be a hundred different reasons.

My boyfriend literally checks every single one of these boxes.. he is criminal, super smart, very bitter, super critical and judgemental, narcissistic, selfish, manipulative, sadistic etc... he even admitted it to me many times that he is too selfish to love someone correctly and have a good relationship + he is rather possessive than loving. and that he likes hurting people (emotionally/physically) and putting them down. the only thing he doesn't, and never did was praising/complimenting or love bombing. It's quiet the opposite for him. He struggles immensely showing any sorts of feelings cause in his eyes, it's a sign of weakness. Showing affection or anything like that legit makes him struggle and stresses him out so much that he can't deal with it. Dealing with all of these things as a partner literally broke me over time and I'm seriously just trying to understand how these people's brains are wired. Im 99% sure he is a sociopath, even showing all signs of the dark tetrade. Yet everywhere i research and study, everyone mentions the complimenting/love bombing stuff which is completely different for him. I guess looking at these signs in a "black and white" kind of way isn't the way to go. Rather that anyone can have certain characteristics and the more somebody has, the more they fall into that certain category? So, does it mean just because one characteristic is missing, that he doesn't fit into it? So pretty much, does every sociopath behave with all of these signs or just because 1 of these things are missing, but everything else checks that he still isn't infact one?

I agree with you 💯 Here's my counter points cause it's good to have a 360 degree view of things.. 1. SUPERIORITY COMPLEX is probably the easiest trait to detect because the "superior" one always reminds you of your place no matter what, why, when, where or who you're doing. 2. EMOTIONAL IGNORANCE can often come across as mutual projection. I'm rubber, you're glue. Unless you want to be rubber like me, Then we understand each other. 3. MANIPULATIVE CHARM It's called being kind. People need to feel good about themselves. At least for most of us authentic Sincerity isn't sociopathy. 4. UNDIVIDED ATTENTION So, what you're saying is it's sociopathic to have multiple outlets for communication? 5. LACK OF REMORSE Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Equality is a two way street. Don't punch me unless I punch you. And if I punch you first, you better have a good reason to defend yourself 6. HIDDEN INTENTIONS that's also an easy one to recognize, Well, at least if you're a person who values sincerity of character. I can't stand the stench of insincerity 7. PERSISTANT PATTERNS .. OK, I admit. I struggle with this one. When it comes to money, I don't borrow. And if I do borrow, I always pay the lender back first. That being said, when it comes to holding a steady job, in all honesty, I have a difficult time. However, in my own defense, usually, when I do quit a job prematurely, the primary cause of me leaving is simple - I'm surrounded by sociopaths. 8.CONSTANT CONFLICT.. Society prepares the crime, The criminal only commits it. I know a bunch of police officers who fit this description perfectly. 9. REDUNDANT MISTAKES.. This one is tricky. Sometimes, as in my case, I could not, for the life of me, figure out why I continued to make the same mistakes over and over and over and over again. Miraculously, I found out, Overnight, the root cause of my 20 +plus years of redundant mistakes was due to being kept in the dark about some very fundamental truths. What you don't know can hurt you. 10. RELIEVING ANGER.. I'm not sure why the narration continually states charm, and praise and charisma are character traits of a sociopath. If that were the case, HOLLYWOOD would be the sociopathic capital of the world 11. RECKLESS LIFESTYLE CHOICES.. No comment 😂 Can we change the subject please? Besides We're talking about you here, and not me. So do us both a favor and let it go. 12. EXPLOITING RELATIONSHIPS.. I know that one real well. All I can say is, It begins at home, and Yeah, EXPLOITING RELATIONSHIPS, The cornerstone of every dysfunctional family. I'm done talking. LMFAO ☮️
