Me too! I got to handed to "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" They did so well with the occult and I WAS SO excited when the witches went to Hecate. Perhaps you may no. There are so many pronunciations of "Hecate" the most I heard was "Hec-a-tay" ALSO...figured Santa was a woman first. Men are the worst. Btw I am one lol

During the Xmas season at Epcot at the Italian provilain you can hear the story of La Befana as she herself tells it.

I worked at Epcot for a period of six years and loved listening to her story. I remember one time, we had a surprise thunderstorm and the alert had gone out to take cover right as she was coming out. The show starts with the characters ringing a bell, which is the alert for guests to come listen. As she’s coming out, she’s beginning her spiel and there’s a loud clap of thunder. She pauses and says “Never mind! My house needs cleaning!” and left. The character attendants and I were dying of laughter.

I would've included Lechusa/Lechuza, a Legendary Witch from Mexican and Texan folklore that commonly takes the form of an Owl. She's said to scream and wail as if in pain to lure in curious or selfless people, whistle back when someone whistles in the dark, or mimic the voice of loved ones of the individual/individuals she's hunting. Ppl are told to be wary if dogs stop barking and the night is eerily silent. Even if it's dead silent people wouldn't hear the beating of her wings (since owls fly silently) when she swoops in to carry them off into the night

But there was a story that is documented in history of Isobel Gowdie from Nairnshire, arguably the most well-known Scottish accused witch in Britain, was the wife of a tenant farmer, John Gilbert, who likely worked on the lands of the Laird of Park. Isobel Gowdie was a Scottish woman who confessed to witchcraft at Auldearn near Nairn during 1662.

Nenek Kebayan is the famous witch in Malaysia. This old and benevolent woman is the one many sought after to solve trouble. Versed more in herbal lore than with spells, she lives in the forest and her job is foraging for herbs, making medicines and perfumes, and also occasionally helping people as a midwife. Many stories on how a woman could turn into Nenek Kebayan... One such is when a woman is unmarried until old age, she would have nowhere to belong to and so seek dwelling in the forest, gaining knowledge and being enlightened over time. Other is when they were selected by the elves called "Bunian" to inherit their esoteric knowledge. In this way, only nine person can have the knowledge, and a new one would be selected if one of them died. So, not all witches are bad.

@MatthewsLivingAdventures

@@cherodanrockaway2034 No..... Male witchcraft practitioners never take on the term "warlock" as it has bad connotation, mostly used by the coven he may have betrayed (if he was part of one in the first place). Plus, thanks to Harry Potter, male practitioners dont use that term in fear of potential copyright issues. When i commented the question "What about male witches" Im asking that the research done for this video be expanded upon since it only focuses on female witches. In this day, Male witchcraft practitioners also use and identify as Witches. The term 'Witch' is gender neutral. In my opinion, if your going to do a video about witches, you have to be all inclusive to both and all genders. (And Yes, we do have historical accounts of Male Witches, not warlocks).
