I can't wait to be mortgage free! We put as much money as we can towards our mortgage and we should be mortgage free by the time I'm 42 and I'm 35 now. I could probably even speed that up.

@@kellyparsonsflaata9981 well done 42 is a great goal!! I wish I had taken my finances my seriously earlier. I could have potentially been mortgage free by 40, but we live and learn….. keep going in your journey to being mortgage free, you’ve got this!!

The little things really build up. Especially if it is a lot of little things, haha. And define "little". A coffee these days is like € 6. A bottle of laundry detergent is € 18. A movie ticket is € 15. I save a lot of money buy switching a bit more to drugstore makeup and I have certainly not bought any expensive palettes anymore, or anything else I don't use that much. I switched laundry detergent with wash strips I order online. Much lighter too. I also don't buy clothes in store cause they don't refund. I can order a dress online, wear it a bit with the tag on, see if I actually like it, then return it. Has saved me so much. Being more critical about everything has helped me so much. Also, selling stuff second hand has earned me four figures at least I bet. I have been wearing the same coat for 20 years. Same boots for 3 years. Good basics in colors that fit me and make me feel great. Clothes that fit with each other. I rarely ever eat out or buy coffee outdoors. And also try to have my parents pay if they can, cause why not.

@@aurorerich it is absolutely the little things, I can’t believe the price of coffee these days! Yes buying branded or luxury makeup brands and beauty products is very expensive, I’m in the process of switching a lot of those items to less expensive brands and they work just as well. Yes I am also learning that if someone offers to pay for something for me that its ok to say yes.

I subscribed because I really want to become more financially responsible in the next year (I've started from December, to be more accountable by January 1st!). Regarding things to stop or reduce buying, I can definitely go without fragrances and makeup because I've renovated all my routine two months ago and my new products will last me through the whole year. Also, deciding to go plastic-free in my bathroom made a huge difference because I don't fall madly in love with hair and body product bottles anymore and their solid alternatives last a long time. I can't believe how much I've saved in shampoo, shower gels and conditioners. Now my next challenge is buying groceries with a fixed budget, so that I'm more careful about individual prices of products and considering options, confronting prices and so on. Thanks for your company!

@@silviac6929 starting in December is a great idea! It will put you ahead of the game come January. Well done on making the switch to being plastic free! Good for your pocket and the environment. I’m so glad you enjoyed this video, seems like a lot of people are wanting to become more financially responsible. So I will make more videos like this and we can support each other on our journeys. May I ask how old you are? I’m just curious and I may be able to offer some ideas more geared toward you.

Hopefully, you did the investment gain vs. mortgage interest calculation. (As in you make 10 percent on investments vs. pay 4 percent on your mortgage.)
