I consider myself as frugal. Some ppl can't believe I wear clothes for 10 or 20 yrs if they still fit! I grew up poor & learned to take care of whatever The LORD Blesses me with ! Great video!!!

My friend was minimal before it was a thing! She still has her and wears her jeans from high school. We are 66 years old.

Wow! I wish I could still fit my jeans from high school! But if you can fit 'em and you like 'em, I say keep 'em and wear 'em!

My sister and I went thrifting after years and we were extremely surprised that 80% of the thrifters in about seven stores we visited were young generation and we found some amazing stuff ❤

I’m a minimalist who believes in quality over quantity. Everything I buy, I see as an investment. My car was ten yrs old, my phone, four, and it’s been too long since I had an eye exam and new glasses. So this week, I got new Rx glasses (60% coupon), new updated phone ($300 rebate), and a new Toyota Corolla Hybrid ($5000 trade-in). My fave frugality tip is, take advantage of everything your local library has to offer. Books, CDs, magazines, classes, museum passes, social events, things (like Go-Pros, and telescopes).

Good job saving on those purchases! And yes, the libraries offer more now than people realize!

Glad I found your channel. Excellent points. My bf doesn't believe in frugality and always in debt. Causes problems. No frugality =no marriage

It is definitely difficult when you view money differently than your significant other. 😬

One of the biggest things couples fight about is money. If you're not on the same page about finances, maybe you're better off to be free to move on to someone who is more like-minded. Don't waste each other's time if he's not willing to learn new ways.

Happy Sunday! This video had me chuckling because we are so similar. I am no longer into name brands. I find that the store brand tastes equal to or better than the national brands. To me, frugality is FUN! It spurs my creativity: trying to figure out how to maintain my fabulous lifestyle on a very tight budget is quite the challenge…LOL!!!🙏🏾🕊️✌🏾♻️🎀💞💖💗💝💓💘💕

I'm in my early 60s and a Brit. I have recently discovered I am "frugal". I just thought I lived with what I got. Your mention of travelling on the bus in Mexico brought back memories. My sister lives in Phonenix (AZ) and when I visited her I caught the bus (I don't drive) and I was hailed as a hero. I have trevelled on buses all over the world and I speak Spanish so a bus with a picture of the Virgen of Guadalupe and some maricahe playing was just home from home.

Nice! I think you get to see more of how the natives live when you catch the bus anywhere.

As always, I enjoyed your delivery on the subject. Like you, when I was younger I bought cheap-priced items. I felt that the more I had, the better I’d look to others. Today, I don’t care about impressing anyone but myself when I meet a financial goal I set for myself. 😁 As for your dollar store section of the video, if people enjoy sending greeting cards like I do, this is the go-to place to get them. Why spend $5 for a birthday card when you can get the same message sent for $1?????? Just sayin’!!!!
@frugalcreativelivingАй бұрын
Absolutely! Greeting cards creeped up to $8 and a lot of people throw your cards away! I used to spend a lot of money on cards but not anymore! Thanks for commenting!
@julieirwin963729 күн бұрын
@ $8!!!!!!!! I guess that shows how long it’s been since I bought full-price greeting cards! Dollar tree has a card section (if they still have it) where the cards are 2 for $1, and that’s where I go. The first part of every January I go up to my dollar tree with a list of the people I’m going to send cards to for the year and buy them all at once. Saves me a lot of time and money.

I dont travel anymore and I dont buy flowers anymore. It depends are you frugal out of need or just because. If you only have $30 after basics bills you don’t travel. I guess some frugal people have privilege.

I'm a lot like you,I'll buy the cheaper version of food for the cost and a lot of times I found not difference in taste just price, and if I really can do without an item I'll do that example my sofa ,the original legs were cracked ( plastic they were ) so I went on Amazon site saw new wooden legs and saved myself 1000s from buying a new sofa also the original cushions were sprung out but the overall couch is still good I ditched the cushions and just bought chaise lounge cushions for my sofa hey it's not perfect but it works, I also buy some groceries at dt especially if I buy the same thing in my groceries store. Plus what some people don't realize is you hmo insurance will pay for healthy food and otc medicine ( OK you have to shop at the store where the insurance company has the contract with .
@reginabeasley872Ай бұрын
Plus patients can get their physicians to write a prescription say for a cane and your medical insurance will pay for it instead of you paying for it ( it has to be covered by your insurance company) I use my healthy food and utilities paying portion every month it helps me tremendously

My friend was being made fun of for only buying 4 ears of corn when it was 12 ears for a couple of dollars. She said but this is all we will eat....and i don't throw any away or i would be throwing my money away....very smart, i thought bc i would buy a dozen ears and throw out 5. The smartest thing my Dad ever told me....find you a good used car, one where the owner has saved all of the paperwork and kept up on the oil changes and tune ups...and use that car until the wheels fall off, then find another good used car. Don't ever buy a new car....biggest waste of money. It never accrues value and you pay top dollar payments with top dollar insurance. Huge waste of money.
