My only thought is that Honesty DOES have a place in this age of lies and manipulation, as you know. Without honesty, integrity, love, respect, and many other great values, the world will be a very bad place where even the dishonest people will not want to live here, right ! Also Rose, the dishonest people don't deserve our anger. Only pity them, as they don't know things. Try not to let dishonest people make YOU feel bad, even though I admit, it's hard to do sometimes. I wish we could we live in a world where honesty is valued and respected, however in my experience when people don’t like your honesty, however carefully you try to say it, they can twist the truth and use it against you to portray you as a monster to others. I hate being fake, but am trying to learn that always being honest is not always the best policy, no matter your pure intentions.
@artemisjr12375 жыл бұрын
That's the thing though, just because other people make it hard for you doesn't mean that you should disrupt your hard earned integrity. I don't want to be fake so I am not fake. Easy as pie. I don't have a TON of friends but the ones I do have are all honest as well and they value and respect me as I do them and we both have that understanding. My boyfriend is my soulmate and he too shares these qualities. I take comfort in the people that are like me and show me that I am not only accepted but also celebrated for just being who I am. These are the people I need to listen to. Some people think it is lonely to not be surrounded by lots of friends but honestly it depends on how you look at it. I would rather have a few trusted cherished friendships then a lot of toxic friendships. It should also be understood that we need to get rid of the grass is greener mentality out of our minds. That only leads to depression and disappointment. Life is not a numbers and stuff game. Life is in my opinion truly about the intangible. These intangibles are what give us piece of mind, show us where our priorities are, and can also provide a great deal of inner strength that we can use to deal with the every day obstacles. Also keep in mind that there will always be haters no matter what you do or who you are. It is a fact of life. You can either allow those haters to break you down or you can see it for what it is and focus on your personal growth and well being.

What I taught him was, "If you tell me the truth now, you won't be punished; if you wait for me to find out on my own that you lied, you'll be punished for whatever you did wrong AND for lying.". Most of the time what was going on was that he had no idea what to do about a situation, & what he needed was someone to listen to & help him. John MDM: I've run into my share of, "People can't handle me because I'm too real" type people. I just wanted to throw this out there. Honesty isn't always innocent, & it isn't always brutal, blunt, mean, cutting. The way my brain is wired makes constant little lies nearly impossible - I can't keep it all straight. I've had to learn to control it, & how to be honest in the gentlest ways I can. Actions & motives are the keys - are they trying to be discrete & gentle, making it clear that this is just their opinion, & honestly trying to help? Or are they saying whatever they want, whenever they want, & do they seem to enjoy the chaos & pain they cause - do they use "truth" as a weapon? Language misuse is something I'm seeing more & more - there's a big difference between: "I'm going to be honest now" & "I'm going to tell you my opinion now".

@artemisjr12375 жыл бұрын
@@versuzzero5335 Couldn't what one person thinks honestly just be what they believe at that given time? Nothing wrong with opinions as long as you are willing to be receptive to new information. I also think people have a hard time with listening to information because they personalize it. That is not on the person stating an opinion. Like for instance some one asks you for your opinion you give it to them and they don't like it. You don't know how they are going to react before you tell them you just tell them because you are stating your honest opinion. Like people don't hold it against someone if they choose a peanut butter jelly sandwich over a cheese sandwich so why should they hold other opinions that differ from yours as off putting and instead evaluate if there is some grain of truth to what is being said or see what is false and point that out as their honest opinion. Also if people have differing opinions it really is ok. Just like we all have assholes and each one is different so are opinions. I honestly think that not taking things as personal and not owning how people see you as soul crushing we as a society can mature more and actually be more receptive to information that can help us in the long run.

An honest person is different from a person who can't tell lies. And I'm a person that can't lie, or just doesn't want to lie. It's weird but I lie by not telling the full truth, they will assume something and I just kept quiet. But some would just accuse me that I lied to them instead of remembering that they assumed it.

The most honesty person is a few in today's world. Why???? The environment of the social media and faster of technology have changed on human behaviors.... This is most sad feeling around a lot of a good peoples. Sometime you gave the honesty suggestion to someone, but you got the worse results in reward. Hope that the video will helping peoples to learn and going back to honesty behavioral to make the better society for brain development in adolescent. Sincerely thank you for the video!

Honesty is a double edged sword, and I have learned that the hard way. People will either love you or hate you for telling the truth. One thing I have noticed is that acceptance of the truth depends on one’s maturity. Kids and kids-alike will always see it as a form of attack while mature and open-minded people will see it as a gift.

Hell yeah! Self-honesty is the bomb. If you're really that type of person, do you really wish to abide delusions? Certainly not. For those of us that strongly believe in honesty, would we ever say that being honest with ourselves is not the basis of it all?

Where honesty is most missed is in dating. Very rarely will anyone ever say ,there not interested, don’t feel a connection, or see you in that way. Usually it’s I’m busy, or I would but this one thing etc etc I do find it contradictory that it’s okay to point the brutal truth in some instances but then change the rules with regards obesity etc
@daughteroftheking57005 жыл бұрын
So true! 😊 I was honest with now an ex of mine, when we were dating. And I got punished for that by him giving me the silentreatment and being passive aggressive towards me. Maby He didn't like my honesty?! I was very respectful and had thought tru my words and tried to be kind, when I expressed my feelings. 😊

Man the obesity thing is indeed dumb. I don't like how obesity is celebrated. Obesity can lead to many health issues and medical bills in the future. It is in mine and my partner's best interest to point out the obesity things so that we can be around for each other longer. Like I know that I need to maybe lose like 10 lbs (my boyfriend says I look perfect but I see things differently) but it doesn't stop me from being me. I just eat healthy and take care of myself. To me it is just as important as paying your bills or going to work. To me taking care of yourself is an investment in your future. Let me be clear here, there is no need to be a swimsuit model, a friggin Ken doll, or any other "ideal". Just be healthy.

Noticed statement about NARCISSISTS which I wasn't aware of until recently. Narcissists consider their feelings as fact despite what evidence is shown to the contrary. Think people should know this because that is half the battle. Blessings

You can be honest with people, while still being kind. Sometimes the truth hurts, but the person delivering the truth, can still take care to be as kind as possible about it. Sometimes people use the fact that they’re honest as an excuse to hurt peoples feelings. You don’t have to be brutality honest!

I live in the South. It's called the "Bible Belt" down here. I'm a Yankee from up North born & raised. These people in my current small, old fashion, southern town HATE my HONESTY & FRANKNESS! I get told this almost everyday. I tell people that I'm just keeping it REAL 100%. This "straight forward approach of communication" has made people strongly disliked me. They often disrespect & mistreat me like I'm their enemy. I've suffered a great deal of pain & anguish in my personal relationships, daily public affairs, working environments too. I've even been openly rejected at church for being too blunt & honest. These Christian folks want me to sugarcoating the TRUTH. I wish that I knew people who actually value my way of thinking & conversing with people.

Well done Brainy-Dose team! After hearing this, I realized you'd summarized my unpublished manuscript called "A Philosophy of Honesty". Mine is too long to be read, let alone put on you-tube, it's about 300,000 words long. I particularly liked where you touch on what I call "justified dishonesty", also called white lies or social discretion. I noted you're aware that all lies, even white ones, have a time limit. The Christian idea of "speaking the truth in love", needs the reverse added. , "When speaking of love, be sure it's also truth". I, like you, live in a society where high levels of honesty are possible because of social security legislation. In many parts of the world, honesty is a luxury most people cannot afford. Become a bandit, or starve to death! I guess this is one reason why the religions of semi-arid countries all emphasize "forgiveness of sins". Thanks again for your well thought out and much needed message. Cheers, P.R.

I agree with this information on honesty and I hope others can see the way that honesty is much better than falsehood, I don't want to make my opinion more valid than anyone else but I appreciate being heard and I feel all of humanity as a whole should be free to express their own opinion about things that they feel passionate about... I don't think that anyone should feel like their feelings are not valid and just want for everyone to be genuine and express themselves with honesty ...💯😇🌺

Excellent and accurate points! Good job once again! 👍 The only disagreement I have is the statement that society frowns against every hint of falsehood. Many people want to believe what makes them feel good. While society at large appears this way, there are more than enough examples now and through history to say not every hint of falsehood is shunned.

What truly honest ppl realize is when, how, why, and with whom to be honest. It's a gift that needs to be handled with care. Most ppl that pride themselves on being honest also pride themselves on being mean and hurtful in the guise of "speaking the truth" or "speaking their truth". If you're truly an honest person.. you should be honest with YOURSELF FIRST. Most "honest" people DON'T do that.
