Climate change is very evident in Germany in Austria. For some reason, the warming effect is stronger than average here, which definitely affects snow and winter sports and tourism in the mountains. It's interesting that despite this effect in Europe, and the rising of the global average, there are some regions that experience a local cooling effect, particularly areas that are a long way away from the ocean, which makes those who live in such areas deny that it's happening. But in Austria and Germany it's very noticeable.
@Flareontoast4 ай бұрын
@kathilisi3019 interesting to learn that it's less evident in other places! I'm almost 30 now and I do still remember super snowy winters, bringing a sled to the park and sledding down smalls hills, even in the city, when I was in elementary school. The past years it's mostly been around 14C on Christmas. It does snow more in the rural areas and especially the mountains but boy is our tourism slowly affected by the warming...

Very fun video! When I am in the US I miss licorice. The Twizzlers are only a faint remembrance of it. And of late I miss decent food. The fast food outlets are becoming more annoying. The quality really sucks. On my last trip I made it a point to visit a Chipotle for the first time. I was not impressed. Another item I miss occasionally is a good cake. Once I have a craving for Kuchen I find myself persuaded by the nice looks of what is at the bakery section. But traditional cake, as in Torte, never makes the taste test and I throw it away after some bites. Cookies are another thing which is okay.

McD’s has different market strategies. In the US they want to be cheap and consistent across 50 states, which is possible with large scales and low wages. Germany/Austria/Switzerland are all smaller markets with higher wages/cost of labor, so they can’t compete on price like in the US but they can compete on quality and novelty. I also only go to McD’s in Europe. In the US it’s trash and I am happy to pay 2x or 3x to go anywhere else.
