Hahahaha, yeah I hear you (no pun intended). My goal was to also make sure that people moving here knew that it was a real thing, since some people who do come in specific neighborhoods notice it and are surprised.

I definitely disagree about number 10 that there is no culture outside of the beach. It may not be highlighted but there is definitely rich historical culture inland virginia beach

My concern is schools. Possible move near a base. Jets are therapeutic lol. AF brat 😂 high schools ratings don’t look good. Any recommendations?

@@k.d.3213 VB has some awesome schools, has a couple of poor schools. If you select your area wisely you will be fine. VB is consistently highly ranked in the top 5 in the USA for schools/safety/recreation.

Hi. I just moved her. 2 weeks in. Best time in the world to move across the country if you ask me (please catch my sarcasm) anyway... can you please explain what the commonwealth is? I keep hearing that word referenced all over the news about Virginia and don’t get it 🤷🏼‍♀️

Ironically, there is literally no difference between a commonwealth and any other state! A few states use the term, but now it's just a name. There were British roots and it had more meaning back in the late 1700's when it originated ("common" and "wealth" implied the fact that the people had a collective influence on government.

Don't move here if you're poor. Very few opportunities besides tourism and resteraunts. You'll be trapped.

The building might not be great,,,,, Ahem Kempsville!!! Ocean Lakes HS is highly rated and they have a great football program but class sizes are larger whereas Kempsville HS is more close-knit due to a smaller student body and students get more individual attention per student.
