One thing to note is that regarding hampton roads, just because you live in one city, doesn't mean your stuck with whats in that city. You can live in norfolk, and visit the oceanfront. Or you can live in virginia beach, and visit downtown norfolk. You can usally travel from Willoughby spit, in the northwestern corner of Norfolk, to the sandbridge fishing pier in southeastern virginia beach in under an hour.

Awesome perspective, I completely agree.

If Norfolk had the land to build; they would surpass Virginia Beach population easily. I always said Norfolk should start building up. Tear down really old properties and revitalize the city.

Thank you for this video! This area of VA is at the top of my partner and my places to move (we live in VT), so this is very helpful.

Awesome! It's a great area and each section of town has its own benefits or pros and cons. Very different than VT!

Norfolk has some great value. Not a big city at all. BUT the default is poverty. VB/Chesapeake default is rural land. That’s the fundamental difference.
@samsansalone4 жыл бұрын
Norfolk definitely has some great value. Definitely is more/less valuable depending on what people need, but yeah not the place to find anything rural!

In terms of buying property, here’s what you need to know. Norfolk has some great parts BUT the default is poverty, historical property. This is an objective fact. Virginia Beach and Chesapeake have suburbs and rural setting as default.

Could you please do a video on reasonable home, condo or apartment rentals? I just moved here to VB last May for a job. Currently staying with friends, but I really need my own place. Would love to hear your recommendations.

How do you think the housing market will look like the next few months to a year? I was planning on moving some time this winter. But with this whole thing going on. I feel like I should wait. Plus I have a job right now. I can't say i will be able to get employment in Virginia if another recession hits.

Hi Sam - moving to the HR area and are looking for a walkable community where we can leave our townhouse and walk to the store / restaurant/ park / library. Not concerned about schools just want to live in a vibrant community

Sorry for the late response! So what you're looking for sounds very much like Ghent in Norfolk. Ironically, I did a video about Ghent today on my channel. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask. But you have all of what you're talking about in Ghent, which is a hard combination to find. I'd suggest checking it out! When do you plan on moving?

Ocean View 30-40 years ago. Amazing! Ocean View 20 years ago - no thanks. Haven't been there since; probably wouldn't go today. Maybe it's fine now, but still ...

Understood - it's definitely a spot that generates so many different responses!

@@cahenglish Instead of pivoting the question or making judgements... that you're so good at, answer the question. Can you without making personal assessments? Yes, I'm very witty at parties.

@@AugustMedia You're confused. I said you were charming and fun. Perhaps you should avoid being personal?

It's in the southeast section of VB for the most part, like I mention in the video.
