Wait, how can restaurants serve bread that has been left behind by other customers? You can't tell me that customers may have not touched it and put it back. Sadly, it should be thrown away once it hits the table. Unless the person says they don't want it right away then server can take it back. I don't order any salads at cheap restaurants or steak.

I only go to "cheap" restaurants. I avoid what I refer to as old people chow such as soups, salads, and anything labeled old fashioned. I usually choose the foods that my older relatives cringe at the sight or smell. I love pasta but only eat my own because everyone uses too much sauce. My rule is 4 parts pasta for 1 ladle of sauce. And I usually finish all of my bread at the table. I only order foods that can survive the trip home and be tomorrow's meal

@@philanderphillips2309 had a few dives that were superior to the fancypants yuppy magnets. My favorite steakhouse is a bar that serves anything steak involved. You have to eat at the bar because there's no tables but the food is awesome

I would honestly rather go to hole in the wall restaurants more than chain restaurants. They always have the best food for cheap

I recently had lunch at two different restaurants. One is close to home, the other several miles further. In each case, I asked for my fries extra crispy. I was impressed! They both got it right. The closest one is a general bistro, and the further is a seafood place. If you ask, you may receive.:)

Spots that served $15 plates a few years ago still around same price. McDonald’s $1 burger now almost $4- shame that the cost floor is rising by that much

I only go to restaurants that I can get a meal for under $10. My favorite steakhouse has a 6oz sirloin with potatoes and Texas red chili for that price. Of course it's a bar that has no tables and all the food is steak involved but it's better than the fancypants steakhouse on the other end of town that charges $40 on up for bland steak and usually canned soup and a salad

I would think Diners/all night places take food safety seriously. If anything, a less expensive one might use a sauce mix (for the hollandaise), but those can be very good--and I bet a lot of more expensive ones do as well.

As there is a way to make it quickly and in small batches I wouldn't worry about it. Even then I will note that you will notice that a lot of other meals will probably use the sauce as most cooks try to prepare similar ingredients and sauces to save time

There’s no way any restaurant has salad bar items that are served “weeks at a time” because they are not popular. Maybe.. just maayybee… 4 or 5 days at most.

Any restaurant, any where, any price point has questionable ingredients, time/temp holding, rotation and overall HACCP practices. If you're squeamish, cook at home. I use to manage them for 20+ years. Can't say no one didn't tell you.

Right before I pushed the button to add this comment... I happened to glance down and I saw that someone before me said something that I agree with 100%! There truly is no such thing as good cheap food anymore. Everything is incredibly expensive. No matter where you go. Personally... I live in what most consider central New Jersey. Burger King is doing some kind of bring back old 90s menu items thing right now... one of those items is the Italian original chicken sandwich. ( long bun.) When I noticed this option was available... I got very excited... because when I was a kid... That's them which was my absolute favorite Burger King menu item. Unlike most... I don't need french fries with my meal and I can always find a drink at home... so typically... I would just do sandwich only The Burger King down the street from my apartment building is charging $9.49 for the original Italian chicken sandwich alone. A large meal cost just under $17. Nothing. Is. Cheap. Anymore!!

I've had better food from a dive bar than a recommend high dollar flash in the pan. My favorite burger place is a bar that serves a customizable 1/3 to 1 pound awesomeness in a bun with a list of toppings a full page long. It makes five guys look like Mcdouchebags. I go there so much they named a combination after me... The hellhound. It's hotter than hell with a Carolina reaper sauce

@@philanderphillips2309 I have seen what goes on behind the seen at restaurants and the habit’s of some people. I don’t even go eat at other peoples homes or events. Have you ever watched peoples kids make cookies? Or go use the restroom and not wash there hands. People are generally nasty and don’t even realize it. No thanks I will prepare my own food and drink. (Yes I could afford to buy a dinner) I’m just very aware of where others hands have been.

It took a worldwide pandemic to entice people to wash their hands, and trust, some people STILL DON’T. As a former nurse, I’m an avid handwasher to date.
