Took me a while but I finally figured out, "new and improved" actually means, "cheaper and less ingredients". Nothing's is as good as it used to be. I am sorry for ppl who have big families and can't afford or even have the time to cook whole foods to feed them.

My grandparents did that too. Stouffer's lasagna, spaghetti, mac and cheese, those were their favorites. Or on occasion their french bread pizzas. They'd have a salad or vegetable along with them, and some ice cream afterwards. Pop liked a big hunk of buttered Italian bread with the spaghetti, and a glass of cheap wine after.

The secret to a frozen meal/dinner is to always, always (if the directions gives a choice) use the "conventional oven" method--it takes longer but it makes all the difference! If you want to get the most flavor out of your food, never microwave a meal! 🤓

I am 75 years old and living by myself and enjoy cooking for myself, I have usually always had a couple of frozen meals in the freezer as a standby but 5 years ago I was diagnosed as a pre diabetic and have found almost all of the ingredients contained in a frozen meal are unsuitable , high in carbohydrates, potatoes, rice, noodles/spaghetti, breadcrumbs over all meats, I don’t have any frozen meals and I still am not on any medication for diabetes because I cook for myself,

The fast food industry is awful, as is the over processed frozen dinners. Good for you, not eating all that stuff and maintaining your health. Diabetes can be terrible. My favorite is the Marie Callender's Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, and green beans. For $2.50 it's great. I take the dinner and put one of my Corell plates on top of it (after I take off the plastic) and flip it upside down so it comes out of the plastic onto the plate, then cover the plate with aluminum foil and cook it for 40 min. It's so good.

The last time Stouffers Lasagna was good was way back in the 80s. All these companies are so hell bent on making more profits, they never stop to realize that they can't keep exchanging good ingredients for bad. What is sad is that younger people, young families who live on this frozen meals, for them the version from the frozen food aisle has become the "standard" by which they judge even homemade versions. Thank you for your bravery. I wouldn't; couldn't do what you did. Please do more - if you dare. By the by, does anyone remember when everything Stouffer's made was so good you honestly would never know it was frozen. You could invite people to your home, serve Stouffer's and pass it off as home cooking, seriously. But I gave up on them long ago; all of their chicken has been "McNuggetized", the Green Pepper Steak - steak my ass - is inedible mystery meat and their mashed potatoes are revolting. I could go on but why bother. The fine and proud name of Stouffer has been tainted and slandered in the name of greed. I guess the secret of making superior frozen food is now lost, perhaps never to be known, gone the way of the Great Pyramids and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.

When I was growing up, we loved eating Banquets Frozen TV Dinners. It was not something we had every day. Mom cooked mostly home cooked meals, but a couple of times a month we got to have TV dinners! My favorite was the meat loaf dinner or the Turkey Pot Pie with top and bottom crust. Even now, I will occasionally get a TV dinner or a Turkey Pot Pie. Yes, I know the portions are small, and it's really not all that "healthy", but it is memories, a feeling of a time when life was less stressful, it is pure comfort food. I like Stoffer's, but will take a cheap Banquet frozen dinner any day. The narrator of this video should use less negative comments about the "taste" of the frozen dinners. People work hard at those factories. It's how they make a living. Show a little more respect.

My family's favorite back in the '70's was the Swanson Mexican TV dinner in the foil tray. The one small compartment had a salsa that was really tasty. We all thought that was a real treat and I still miss them.

I don't believe Picard, the French frozen food outlet has come to the U.S. You will be amazed! Duck confit, shrimp in coconut milk and coriander, lemon tarts, tart Tatin... French frozen dinners are WAY better than anything I've seen in the U.S. They DO have macaroni and cheese, though it's called a gratin, and is made with Emmental and topped with bread crumbs. I'm glad to hear that the Stouffer's lasagne gets high marks!

The secret to the best frozen mac n cheese you'll ever have. Stouffer's (not the family size). Microwave for half the Microwave time while preheating the oven. Then remove and cook the other in half oven time, plus 5-10 minutes if you like that little bit of browned cheese crusting the top. I guarantee this is so good. My daughter was always impatient when I cooked this. So was I.
