I do not know what the Duke class were listening to,( there lack of enthusiastic and appropriate Ah-Ha moments in his presentation )but i was very impressed with the plain of action taken by the speaker. The salesmanship coupled with the facts will yield a very persuasive argument from soup to nuts. as a 1L at age 70 I found the speaker profound and very reveling. It would appear that the art of the sale has not changed simply the presentation setting.

Holy crap....you had that war against the British to be independent from them and all I hear in the audio file is a British court in session. In fact it seems more British than the British....which means it's no longer a surprise to me that Australian courts look to US court decisions for guidance on some issues, when it was almost exclusively that Australia looked to the UK for guidance and to a lessor extent internally for case decisions.

Yes and no. US is based off English law and you can't just uproot it. As time goes by, it will sound "less British"

I just walk up to the judge while he's having coffee in a cafe, sit across the table from him, and tell him that he can do me a favor. And that if he doesn't do it, he might have an accident. His house might burn down. His car might have ignition problems that could blow him to bits. He might accidently fall down a flight of stairs.

Threatening a public official let alone a Judge? LOL. Not only does the US have some HEAVY statutes against that type of thing but a good Judge knows 2 dozens of prosecutors, attorneys, cops, etc. that could make your life hell
