Terry Fox is my favourite Canadian hero. I’m so glad schools across Canada still do the run every year to continue raising awareness and money. I wish Terry could see the huge impact his legacy continues to make.

I can't begin to imagine the terrifying claustrophobia that an iron lung would probably cause! I'm amazed at this man's bravery & sheer determination to keep on living! Each & every breath must be such a gift! 🌬️

Look at the poor mother who had to have her whole nose removed, then look at the guy who did it on purpose. I can't help but feel these two people should not be in the same video that is a mother who took steps to ensure that her life would be there to take care of her children, that's a guy who just wanted to look weird.

The Terry Fox run which raises money for cancer research has raised over 850 million dollars as of last year, that is almost 30 times more than Terry set out to raise! The Terry Fox Run is the largest single day fundraiser in the world and takes place in more than 60 countries. The world needs more heroes like him!

The lady without a nose, I've seen her before. She chooses not to wear the prosthetic most of the time, though I forget why. I would definitely wear it, it looks so real. You'd never be able to tell. I mean, it's her choice, I just don't get why she doesn't wanna wear it.

My mom was born able bodies, but contracted polio when she was 8 months old. The polio ate away all the kuscles in her left arm and shoulder, before she was cured of it. She died at the age of 56 from cancer, and everyday of her life she was petrified of her polio returning, which it can do, and ending up in an iron lung. This amazingly strong willed and intelligent woman suffered from severe anxiety over the fear of having to live in a box.

Is it possible to invent a portable iron lung; something you could move around sufficiently without being confined full-body? They really aught to consider a device that could substitute as a healthy pair of lungs if the real lungs are in too poor of a condition to be much use to their host anymore; Kind of like that blood pumping device that replaced a rapidly cancerous heart, only different.

You know when you watch videos about people's lives such as this, you have to seriously stop and think about other people who have all of their body parts and continuously bitch about everything and anything in their lives. We could all learn from these incredible human beings, they deserve our full respect and kindness, not hostility, ridicule or insults....those who abuse people such as these wonderful people in this video are not 'human' to me....rather they are monsters. Period. Kudos to all of you in the video; you warm my soul. 💕💕💕💕💕💕
