I wish I had the money to expand my vegetable garden more than I did this year. I plan on trying to double it next year and I’ve already started buying the stuff to do it with. I’m buying a little at a time so I’m not spending a lot of money at once.

Another jersey guy here James grew up in Middletown, now living in the Pocono's. Love your channel one of the better one's, nice to see someone who loves gardening so much an is super enthusiastic. My three daughter's live in Brick Twp right by you, an am trying to get them interested in gardening, starting them with earth boxes, so far so good, maybe in the future start a raised bed an really learn the art of growing, will see, keep doing what your doing.

You should tell folks that malabar spinach is a climbing vine, and loves to grow on a trellis, fence, wall, etc. it has a lovely purple stem and glossy green leaves. It is a beautiful decoration that is edible and can tolerate extreme heat. I am glad I just got turned on this variety. By the way Malabar is the southwest coast of India!

We really can't afford another raised bed this year...however...during the course of this video we have decided to buy a cheap kiddie pool to plant greens in a shady spot in the backyard....we are working toward more self sufficiency with garden beds...as we are not spring chickens it is a slow process though....thank you for the time you spend encouraging and inspiring,...and give Tuck a cuddle from us 🥰

My chipmunks did not get memo that Swiss chard is not bothered by pests, they decimate my Swiss chard and leave kale alone. I planted a Diva cucumber in shady area last year, as I had spot open and extra plant and I got best crop ever, despite deer chomping on what grew in their reach. The ones in sun did not perform as well. Will see what happens this year as I planted more in that location and noticed today baby cucumbers.

i live in the tropics.....lots of sun heat and rain. i have a garden bed on my roof, and it's basically a jungle of spinach, with very few other plants in it......i started blending the spinach and freezing it in individual portions. in the morning i take one of those shots of spinach and mix it with a bit of juice and have that for breakfast.....it lasts until lunch. planted a few kale plants, but they are still too young. but soon i will add them to the blend.

I like mustard greens in small amounts in salads, and they're good mixed in with already-made sauerkraut. Everyone talks about growing beans when the peas are finished, but even though I planted my peas a month before my pole beans, my peas are just starting to produce now, and the beans are climbing high. There is definitely going to be some overlap in harvesting.
