I never thought tomatoes could be grafted! I knew about trees, because my Dad did that in his orchard - and I remember his joy when a graft was successful. And since I have a very small growing bed, 2’x8’, trellises, this would be an excellent option for future seasons. Thank you for posting, and ❤❤❤ to Tuck.

Quick question, I see you have a full cover on some of your beds. My question is how do they pollinate when covered?

For plants that need pollination like cucumbers I will take the covers off when the female flowers show up 😁

I’m a brick and stone mason also from New Jersey I took a bunch of lest over blocks that I had saved up and I built my big garden with em 12” tall and heavy duty should last a very long time. All my others are logs 🪵 border and soil filled inside and. I try to spend as little $ when staring my garden. I don’t even buy seeds any more I just save em from the best plants. Especially Tomatoes 🍅 u can cut one in 6 pieces and and bury and in a week u will have sprouts everywhere. I love doing this with my San marizanos seeds came from Italy 10 years ago I saved em since and they totally climatized to out environment

I just made one following your instructions. My wood wasn’t as good as yours but it came out great just a bit warpy in places. I’ve got pallets like yours as well it was just that the one I used was already pulled apart. I had three large thick beams left over.

Just to tell you i have really been enjoying this years season of videos since they started up! I am in zone 4 or 5a depending on the souce, and every year your seasons videos will be at least 6 weeks pre planting time for me. I have gardened for 40 years very successly but i still learn something new every video!! I was surprised to see how gray your furbaby has gotten this year. We have 2 morkys, a designer mix of yorkie and maltese who will be 10 this year. They look and act no differently then when they were a year old. Your baby mayhave gray now but you can tell he still loves the garden! Thank you for continuing work and sharing your beautiful garden. You inspire even those who have been busy in a garden for decades to try new things!

Thank you James and Tuck! That looks like fun. Quick question, would you be able to use the seeds from the each of the fruits without them reverting back to type or would you treat like f1? 😊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Pallet wood can be treated with a variety of chemicals/poisons depending on what the pallet was used for. There are guides online that can tell you what they are treated with if you can find the ID stamp.

I live in Zone 3B.. almost Zone 4.. I planted 6 cucumbers one year, and seeded more in between the the plants. The seeds caught up, even over took the growth of the potted plants ! I now only start Cuc's by seed right in the garden. They will grow 'when they want to' !

My perpetual food is sweet potatoes. I had 2-year old Beauregard sweet potatoes that sprouted. I put the sprout ends in water and within a week I had roots and leaves. Just a gallon of old ones made almost 70 new plants. Also, blueberries are early, mid season and late. When planting always plant with a buddy from the closest season. Only early with late won’t work well.

Thank You for this video and especially for showing the result of the experiment. I am glad I saw this video because it hadn't occurred to me to graft tomato's, have you ever tried grafting indeterminate top to determinate bottom to control its growth?
