Amazing collection! TYSM for sharing! ❤ I'm currently using an Avery Labels package (thin cardboard) to make a gift journal, and I'm loving it. (If you enjoy new materials for journals). It has a flap that folds onto itself creating that perfect envelope for a wrap around cord or button closure. I'm doing a paper bag faux leather which will look great on this old fashioned fold over journal. I usually use frozen food boxes or cracker boxes bc of the built-in spine lol. So cool to see you figured out the same hack! Lol 🙂

Loved the paper bag "make a journal with me" videos. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. I made 2 as gifts whilst following the series. I would love to try a fabric covered journal next. Don't mind if it's fabric over cardboard, a book, or any other base. And I'd also love a "make an Ephemera folder with me" series too. Cheers!

Yay, that's so cool. Since you're a patron, you get priority so we'll do a fabric cover journal together next. I'll look at my supplies, get something ready, and will look forward to filming the series. Ooh, didn't think of that. The options for covers are endless, thank you for sharing. My question is regarding the binding you used on the journal that had the vintage looking newsprint on the outside, the binding was blue. Was that done like a travelers notebook, removable or was that sewn in? I liked the buttons at the top and bottom, were they just for decoration or were they functional? Were the signatures looped around them on to those buttons and thus removable? Thank you again Juni!
@JuniDesiree4 жыл бұрын
I actually filmed a tutorial for the binding and dangle of those journals. Here's the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gGHViWyviZt-jqs. Hope it helps. The buttons are decorative and not removable.

I don't know where my comment went but I did say what a great idea it was to have all the different styles in one video. I would love to see a craft with me video on a hard cover book as I have just bought 4 Readers Digest books from an op shop that I want to make into journals. The size seems just right and a great memory of some of my favourite reading. I made a journal after following your video on your faith journals but now the paper cover is starting to peel off. I used fabric glue for added strength and was wondering if you had any suggestions as to how to fix it and what glue you use on the plastic covers?
@JuniDesiree5 жыл бұрын
Ooh great question about the glue. Yep, my glue didn't work either, so for the plastic I use double-sided tape to stick the paper on. I just have to use it all over though or else the paper buckles in this heat. Hope that helps. I just bought 3 Readers Digest books today from the op-shop to turn into journals for this series - wow!!! Cool, since you're a patron, we'll definitely do a hard cover tutorial asap. Just two other patrons got in first, so, it's third on the list.

@@JuniDesiree Thats exciting, I just went back to see what the first two will be and I will have to have a go at those too. I had already planned on trying the envelope cover and now I will see if I can find a golden book too.

Oh if my memory is correct I think the first journal we're doing is a fabric covered one, and the second is the envelope one. Then we'll do the hard cover book cover for you - yay! And then maybe the Little Golden Book will come next.
