Aww, this was such a wonderful vlog and I absolutely love the last little tidbit that you shared. Too often people fall into the comparison game and fail to see the wonderful blessings in their own lives. My hubby and I feel the same even though we are in a different season of life right now. One day, we will get a chance to resume our weekend getaways, for now we are enjoying our littles.

Yes yes yes!!! Love this! My husband and I only have one child but we have NEVER gone away. We will be celebrating our 11th anniversary in Sept. We are planning a trip to Missouri. We are sooo excited! Getting connection time is so important! We struggle alot right now financially and where we live we don't have any family close enough just to take our son for a date night. So we were just doing date nights at home after he was in bed. Somehow life managed to get in the way of that! We need to claim that once again..thank you so much for your raw honesty! We’ve been married 21 years, and still have not been away on a trip of our own. We do local “dates,” but have never done a trip. Thanks for the inspiration! I believe you when you say it’s worth it. You both looked so relaxed and happy in your snippets of your trip. I don’t drink, but my husband enjoys wine. Were there any options at the winery you visited for those who don’t drink? It seems like the perfect choice for a couple like us. I loved the sign on that pool that it was only for adults. You’ve really got me thinking now! Your room was lovely, and exactly our style, cozy with a few extra amenities to make breakfast in the room easy. ❤️

I agree wholeheartedly! We were married very young and have been married 14 years now and only recently have been able to make it a priority to spend weekend getaways, etc with each other now that our kids are older! Happy anniversary! Love seeing you vlog. Also, fellow homeschooler Mom here! 🙌🏼

I normally don't watch vlogs, but for you I made an exception and I'm glad I did. Thank you for sharing your relaxing trip with all of us, and thank you for what you said at the end about comparison, and also the importance of putting your spouse as a top priority. As parents of 3 kids 3 and under, we are not in that kind of season now, but it's nice to see what we will someday do, and also a good reminder about priorities and the importance of it being in the right order. My husband and I started taking trips alone after we had been married for 20 years (we shouldn’t have waited so long!). I always get emotional when we check out & head home! We are so blessed & I love my life at home, but I also love having my husband all to myself. God bless your marriage & your family!

And same happened this summer passing through Texas... It was so identical I forgot we weren't home and bought stuff we needed and had to return it because we were already packed to exploding! That's so awesome (: thanks for the advice too. My boyfriend and I are not married just yet but we've been together for 9 1/2 years now since we were teens and have two girls together. Neither of our parents are still together either but we both want to be very different as parents to our girls. It's definitely rough to be able to get quality time together with just life happening and I hope to really try and implement a monthly date night for us soon due to your inspirational, and a bit of an eye opener to be honest, video.

Happy anniversary! You are such a cute couple! Glad you were able to get away for a bit. My husband and I have been married 13 year's, have three kids, live in Ohio and we just took our first big trip to Lake Tahoe! First time being out west and it was gorgeous! Going home, we actually flew from Reno to Oakland and then home to Columbus so when you said Oakland I was like, she was where I was at! I just love your channel.
