I had over 8 social care staff know about my abuse, and at least one police UK police team also knew. Non of them did nothing. They didn't beleive the white child at the time. And I got no look in at all. I was ignored and just left. With them only writing notes in records on file. I am currently suing them. And they are fighting back with all the usual tactics they use against children abused in their care. Evil parasitic system. Full of corrupt staff and managers. The term “rape culture” refers to a societal environment where sexual violence is normalized, excused, or perpetuated through attitudes, behaviors, and systemic practices. It’s rooted in beliefs that trivialize or dismiss the severity of sexual violence, placing blame on victims rather than holding perpetrators accountable. Here are some ways to describe its presence: 1. Victim-Blaming: Victims are often questioned about their clothing, behavior, or location during an assault, implying they are responsible for the violence they experienced. 2. Normalization of Sexual Violence: Rape jokes, trivializing sexual harassment, and dismissing assault as “boys being boys” contribute to desensitizing society to the severity of the issue. 3. Media Representation: Films, TV shows, music, and advertisements often romanticize or glorify aggressive sexual behavior or portray women as objects for male pleasure, reinforcing harmful stereotypes. 4. Underreporting and Low Conviction Rates: Many survivors don’t report sexual violence due to fear of disbelief, shame, or retaliation. For those who do report, justice systems often fail to hold perpetrators accountable, creating a sense of futility. 5. Misguided Focus on Prevention: Instead of teaching consent and respect, societal narratives often place the onus on potential victims to avoid assault, such as advising women not to walk alone at night or to dress modestly. 6. Power Imbalances: Systems that perpetuate male dominance and misogyny contribute to the idea that men are entitled to control or access women’s bodies, whether in workplaces, relationships, or broader society. 7. Lack of Comprehensive Education: The absence of effective education on consent, healthy relationships, and sexual violence prevention leaves gaps in understanding and perpetuates myths about rape and assault. Addressing rape culture requires challenging these attitudes and systems, supporting survivors, and fostering a culture of respect, consent, and accountability.

@b00jen81Сағат бұрын
@@CarlAyers-x8h The real question is: Why would you speak like this to someone who was repeatedly SA'd as a child? Compounding the pain of the SA is the fact that when they finally found the bravery to come forward - something incredibly scary for any SA victim to do, let alone a child - that the family and community they're supposed to feel safe in re-traumatized them all over again by not believing them and saying THEY were at fault. When met with that type of response, a person will find it incredibly difficult to properly heal thru the years. Since you clearly know nothing about what this kind of life-long trauma does to a person, I suggest next time you feel compelled to talk down to a trauma victim, you choose your words more carefully so they're not hurtful.
