Everyone is amazed (I'm not denying that it's amazing, she's incredible.) but I'm just sitting here wondering.. How the fuck she managed to do this in a school?? The school would be SO INCREDIBLY liable if she were to fall or get injured. I'm sure middle schools don't just casually have the correct paperwork to allow twelve year olds to hang from the rafters.

I see so many people saying, "I'm __ and I can do that!" Or, "I'm __ and I can't do that!" Let me just say, it doesn't matter! She may have started at a rapid pace or she could have had a hard time learning and didn't practice as much as she should have. My point is, is that it doesn't matter if you can do what she can do and you're younger because the way she was taught is most likely very different. Also, you may have started at a different age. Please don't say that you can't do it even if you're older, and don't say you are better because everyone is at a different level no matter what. You are all good at something in your own way and the way to be better is to just practice.

If you want to do anything related to dance or gymnastics, starting young is a really good thing!! Just don't get discouraged like I did. If you really love doing something, or aspire to do something, go for it. Being scared to fail is ultimately the only thing that will make you fail. Go do it, and don't care how you look or how good you are off the bat, just enjoy the art.

Ada Cheung Well a good instructor, flexiblity, and confidence is bascically all you need to do this if practice a lot. It doesn't matter what age you are, what gender you are, what race you are or anything like that. So if you get a good instructor you could possibly do what this girl did with practice.

Ok so I really really want to learn this but I can't because there aren't any places where I can learn this that are close (closest is 5 hrs away) but I REALLY want to do this so much. You should buy your own silk and start learning by yourself. Start as soon as you can, so you will adquire the flexibility amazingly quickly. Believe me, is not a hard discipline, It just requires a lot of volunty. Use the correct protection, and start with basick tricks, like rolls, or even just standing hung on the silk. Those basic excersives will give you the strong to climb the silk and do a lot of tricks

Piper Freeman no please don't try to learn on your own you need a real trainer that will help you and make sure you're doing it right to you don't get serious injuries. Please don't try this without a teacher. Also the silks are super expensive and you'd need somewhere to hang them from that can support 10x your weight

I have same problem. In my country none of the gyms have areal silks. Me and my parents were thinking aboug getting 7yrd ( around 6m ) . I found a website that is acctualy safe and you wont get scammed ( my cousin ordered it ) and the price is not that bad.
