@ryperoyalguard Good question. I guess it boils down to the individual, one's experience. I have issue with people who lack respect, so it gives me a better perspective. I am also aware that although all systems are flawed, many of our values are good and worth defending, and those soldiers represent that. They "protect" what I value. In passing, I am not a Brit, and rest assured, there are things I deplore, but soldiers who serve are not one of them. Do not get me started on politicians. Cheers.

@@ryperoyalguard - "...the best way to encourage more people to show that respect?" There is no answer or solution to that, especially for such a brief, what should be, memorable encounter. If some folks haven't acquired or learned that common courtesy or mutual respect, then during those very brief encounters we can't "encourage" or teach them to extend those courtesies. Conversely, we do like the one Brit's videos where he's admonishing, chastising, etc the over-the-top discourteous (shouting out comments such as "you're rude" and so forth). @@ryperoyalguard The best way is to first teach them how to identify scorpions in the sand box. (old timey reference to the old saying 'play nice in the sand box'. Then, teach them to defend themselves and the best techniques to do so according to circumstance. When they are confident in those 3 things then, and only then can they be free to be kind when they choose to be kind according to their good judgement and not a sythetic pressure on the conscience of a cultural. People instinctively know it is not good to be nice at all times. It is not the silver bullit on how to behave at all times. Jesus is the silver bullit for all our ails. Not "Be Kind" platitudes. If the molders of our culture were sincere in their quest for normalizing good behaviour they would teach respect, courtesy and manners. But of course they are insincere, so they teach rudeness and then expect people to be kind. Can't have it both ways. Hypocrites to any one who preaches "Just Be Kind". I loath them. The intent is to disarm so you can be taken advantage of. This value is NOT universal. It is not even well defined. Just research "Tough Love".

@@ryperoyalguard The honor and dedication that is required to even win a billet among these guys. It's just.. awe inspiring. I look at these guys with the same reverence that I view our own Special Forces here in the states. Yes, it is a totally different kind of duty, but much like the guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, it's an honor to serve in that role. Then we get into all the hell that they have to go through to GET that honor? Yeah, these guys are prime representatives of what it means to be a Soldier. What Soldiering is, or what it should be. It's a nod to the idea of Honor, which is something very missing in modern times. People, and traditions like this, are vital if we are to remember our collective past as human beings on this planet. People who are willing to devote themselves to ideals like these, and take on responsibilities of such depth, and can still take the time to be kind? Yeah, modern heroes. Every single one of them.

Only been caught once, but was able to run away and hide in the crowd. Now I wear disguises and different clothes to avert detection. There is a pot full of money going into your country from visiting foreigners . I'm not into horses exactly but got sense enough to know the animal is not happy when they do that . Might do well for some of you country men and women to recognize that as well. Instead of always pinning fault to visiting foreigners from any other country as well. It just so happens bad attitude is displayed from some of you brits towards people from the states.
