I just back from my trip to Nola, visited a few plantation there and reminded me of this movie. Thanks for making this video! I thought the street scene was shot in a fake set but it was shot in a real street… wow

With all the CGI in that shot, I was surprised as well. Hope you enjoyed New Orleans! It's a whole different world down there!

I love seeing home! I'm from Destrehan, LA. I live in New Orleans now. What background music track did you use when you're showing the mule barn at Destrehan, Plantation?
@GoingtotheMovies3 жыл бұрын
Hey Susanne! The one at the end of that segment is called Maroon by Fabien Tell. Its from a music library called Epidemic Sound.

Really great!! I've found myself unfollowing other "Film Location" channels because they are sometimes so disrespectful or just annoying!! Finding this was just a pleasant suprise and I'm on to watch more. Already subscribed!!!

Thank you! There is lots to come. And, I will try my best to not be annoying but I can't make any promises, haha!

Thanks for this! Well done! Audubon Park was also a large plantation. It belonged to New Orleans’ first mayor. I’m a New Orleanian, by the way. Again, appreciate this video. 👏🏾

Enjoyed this video. I actually was working for, St. Joseph & Felicity Plantation's when, 12 Years was filmed. Quite an experience and so proud of our venue.

This was awesome! I just watched this film a few days ago and I’m so intrigued by Northup’s story, trying to find out more and more!

Thank you, Kristin! I’d never heard of Solomon Northup before the movie came out but his story is so inspiring. Next time I go to Louisiana I hope to see the real life locations on the Solomon Northup Trail.

I liked your vid very much...I am partial to the Old South...historically and culturally. 12 Years a Slave is an important story...harrowing and poignant. It was very interesting to see the locations...places as old as Northrup's tale of woe and redemption. Nice work! And thank you for sharing...peace!

I love the part where you show Solomon getting out of the carriage in front of the Columns Hotel over the footage of a Tesla parking in front.

Yeah, I probably should’ve waited for them to move, but I didn’t want to get hit by a cable car!

Omg not to throw shade at anyone but at Felicity they told me that the scene where he’s running up to the house and you can see the stairs was shot there and the crew added stairs. I just went again recently and now trying to match up my picture and now seeing your video I can see that’s not the case. Although scenes did film at Felicity that particular scene did not and they even have a picture there saying it did. Excellent video!

Great video and awesome channel theme! I know some people who worked on that movie.

Thanks Darren! Between the subject matter and hearing that they shot it in only 35 days, I bet this was a tough movie to work on.
