The old COD games were so much simpler yet offered deep and expansive progression systems that offered meaningful and valuable rewards. A lot of those progression systems are a lot less valuable these days because of the store and bundles. The movement system makes every match a lot more sweaty, with or without SBMM. There is so much more to take into account that it can not be played as relaxed anymore as the old games. Each game also feels a lot less unique and doesn't nearly get you as immersed in the universe / theme of the game because zero effort is being put into creating very detailed map environments or skins that at least somewhat fit (doesnt mean realistic)

I come back to bo2 fairly often as it is my favourite cod. Used mods once for like 2 games with my mate years ago and I honestly don’t see the fun in it. Mainly because it’s ruining the game for people who just want to play like me. I just don’t understand people joining games and just instantly killing everyone with aimbot headshot. But the worst and most annoying thing is when people try and act like they haven’t got any hacks on and just run around like normal, usually with a ballista. Getting angry about it while typing ahah. Theatre clips need removing or the hacked clips at least. FAT W1ZARD out

make sure you either own and install all of the DLC or none at all. if you have partial dlc it maybe only lets you into lobbies with the same. also if you press X on the gamemode screen it lets you change the connection preference and you may have to set it to all /any. that's what I had to do
