Glad you guys go to experience the fishing in Old harbor, I visit there every summer to visit my grandparents and my uncle and usually go do commercial halibut fishing for less than 2 months depending on how the fishing goes.

@@letsgooofishing1 There was a Vertigo Air charter that left Old Harbor taking Kokiak Sportsman's Lodge guests back to Kodiak. It didn't clear the mountain. 3 injured, 2 died. Crash was July 2nd this year.

Oh wow I had no idea. Been reading about it all morning. Very sad deal. We flew with them and I remember the pilot saying how quickly the weather changes over the mountains.

@@letsgooofishing1 So sad. We flew in that plane just a week and a half before it crashed, but with a different pilot. We flew last year with the pilot that was in the crash. The weather was so bad getting there. We lucked out and ran into 3 other guests that were stuck in Kodiak for 3 days. They found a boat captain to take them to the lodge and were kind enough to wait for us to come from the airport. It was a rough 4 hour trip getting to the lodge. Very happy to be able to fly out and not take the boat. Feeling lucky that all went well for us.

Love it up there. My son's in the Coast Gaurd and was stationed up there for 10 years. Just the most beautiful place to fish I've ever been. Great video. Loving that lodge. That place is next on my list.
