In North Carolina, USA we are moving into fall. Trees have a touch of color. It is mid October when we have the best color. Cooling down but no heat on yet. Enjoy your baking class.

I like taking courses. Not many, usually one at a time. I've taken various hands-on ones (although not, so far, baking), and academic ones as well. It keeps me occupied, keeps my mind and hands active, and I meet people with similar interests.

I live in central Minnesota, but I’m from Mountain Ash. I’m home in Wales until the end of September visiting family and friends, and I remember delivering Alpine Pop in your neck of the woods back in the mid to late 1970s. The other day, I decided to catch a bus to Blaenrhondda to see how much I remembered of the place. Unfortunately, very little seemed the same, except the bridge I used to drive across and turn left towards Blaencwm and then travel to Blaenrhondda from there, which was part of my round. But then I remembered I used to get there via the mountain from Aberdare and not travel up through the valley from the direction of Pontypridd, which might be why I felt a little discombobulated. I might return before I go back to the U.S. to take a look at Blaencwm (I didn’t go down there a week or so ago) to see how much of it looks the same. A very lovely part of the valleys I have to say. Thanks for the memories! It’s why I watch your channel. By the way, the weather does suck at the moment.

Feel like it almost hit 100 today (Friday) in SW Washington. A lot of humidity and smoke from the local forest fires didn't help at all either. You can send some of your cooler weather our way Sean!

That's a decent cabinet. I was lucky enough to have my daughter with me, and she spied one in a charity shop for a fiver in orange pine. She knows i love orange pine. I like wood in general. I not a fan of mdf or that cheapo stuff that's smashed together from ikea. Oh yes, you have to do the butter on soda bread. It is a lovely 😋 a nice, easy loaf to bake. I'm looking forward to seeing the making of the one you did, like if you get a chance. No pressure. ❤
