I've been shooting Kentmere 35mm and am happy with its balance between affordability and performance. Is their 120 film based on their same formulas and stock of their 35mm? How does the film backing compare to Ilford 120? (Thinner?)

Great interview! I love Kentmere Pan 100 in 35mm. Now that I’m getting into medium format, I’m really looking forward to shooting it. So happy more film is coming out in 120!

My mum is in her 70s, I got my hand on a stack of the negatives she had her portrait photos done by the pro photographer, I can now easily print the same beautiful photos of her early 20 looks in the darkroom or scan them for digital output. I can’t imagine if my mum had her photos done was in digital, will the digital files still exist after 50 years? That’s what trickers me to go back on film, I want the hard copy in hand so that I can keep them for many generations to come.

When I started doing photography, there was only film. You only had so many shots per roll which really made you slow down and evaluate each shot before taking a shot. That was a very good way to learn photography. I even had a darkroom for developing film and making prints. I loved looking at negatives on a light box and seeing prints develop in a tray. Photography was a different process back then. I loved it. But, I'm glad to use digital cameras these days.

Very Cool, I enjoyed the topic. Like turning back the clock of time for me. My father started me off with a camera 57 years ago. So this was a fun video for me. Thank You and Merry Christmas to everyone at the Camera Store and all it’s many followers.

Interesting production. Sound maybe clipping? And some wide angle distortion on the guest? I liked the interview.

I really liked the interviews and enjoyed the new format. Something different and interesting, and I hope you continue to explore different films or aspects of photography in the future. However, the first interview set up with so tight it did actually give me claustrophobia watching it 🤣

Film is different. It's photons to photos - not pixels to RAW. Film is a haptic, and slow medium. It requires patience, and humbleness, to be successful, and also time, to learn and master this craft. Nowadays, into a world, whereas pictures, hence -photographs being seen all over the place, think un-social media, it's all about the quantity, but never about the quality. Sad, but true. Literally everyone with absolutely no knowledge about photography (think Aperture, Shutterspeed & ISO triangle) can take pictures via phone)
