Well, I've been a gearhead for 36 years and I've never heard a 6 banger that didn't sound like a 6 banger...not from idle thru WOT. Admittedly, some have been pretty close, but somewhere in that rpm range, it's distinctive sound has always comes thru. You should make a video of your 87 GN running so we can hear it. That's one of my favorite cars.

For those saying the GN is a 6 and it's all in the cam, no cam in the world is going to add two more cylinders to your engine. That is a V8 all day long. I don't care what people do to their personal cars but it's different with the GN/GNX. When you rip out the turbo V6 for a V8, you rip out it's soul. That car made a legend with that turbo V6.
