It's the way buick used that performance torque bar and how they tied it into the rear differential housing. It makes the front rise, the back squat and it flys straight as an arrow. Kinda messed up that the very year buick figured out how to make a G-body actually drive straight down the track, they retired it.🤔

Buick was ahead of their time with this car and engine. Then they just stopped production.. Such a shame they didn't run with this tech and put it into all their cars. GM would have been leading... Not just for power but for efficiency and fuel consumption.

GM always screws up. Suck in every way. Had a rock solid l platform to progress forward. But noooooo. Now Euros and Asian are wipping the big 3'a ass in every segment. Big 3 put all their marbles into bloated ass heavy ugly trucks, ugly vette & camaro. That's why I went import to built K24A2's Plentiful and bullet-proof especially if you add hefty turno. sleeves, headwork, rod n pistons, valves, bigger cams, intake, injectors and you're in the 700 hp or nearly 300 hp/liter. Smokes 🚬 many unsuspecting .

But you can still run in the 10's with a stock long block and stock head car. I remember one of the guys in Florida or Texas was running 9's even. With bolt ons. All you need is boost and hope everything holds together. ;-)

It's definitely a grand national. Marks my uncle and he has 3 of them. One is a pristine 87 that he has been driving on the roads since 87. I've driven it myself and that one from what I remember is a low 10 second car. He does all the work himself and is the best grand national guy around.
