Matt's programs are the real deal for anyone interested and definitely newer lifters. Hammered my body for so many years. Just about had to stop lifting with injuries and pain. The Tactical Wenning program I've been using for several several months now showed me I had incredible weaknesses in areas. Especially being older and having a job as a LEO with duty gear on my back for 12 plus hours, it is helped so much. I would wake up in pain and miserable, struggle to have a quality life with my kids. IN the time I've been doing his program, it has helped me more than I ever thought possible. Thank you Matt very much for your knowledge, sharing, and for Teddy's help lol I try to support EliteFTS when I buy all my bands or other miscellaneous equipment💪🏽

Learning about wenning warmups at a seminar during the Arnold (a couple years ago? Can’t remember anymore) was a game changer for me. I remember Matt saying something along the line of pick your weaknesses and use those in the warmups. It honestly made training fun again, I was able to keep finding things I was bad at, and I find myself improving in so many more things and feeling that satisfaction of being better than last time. I don’t train for strength specifically anymore (strangely, I really enjoy running, cycling and BJJ now, and both running and cycling started as me being terrible at them), but as my interests changed, I never stopped using the Wenning warmup concept and it’s always been an amazing tool. Love the podcast, amazing episode!

I love absorbing new lifting information as well. I sometimes found myself wanting to flip between programs Bc of some great stuff I was reading. I finally had to just start making a list of the ideas and commit to my program for several months and let the new info marinate for a while before choosing what changes to make.
@tylergash31752 жыл бұрын
@@AndJusTIceForRob I constantly make slight changes to my program based off of what I learn, and it works for me. I think it’s because I “shock the muscle” and cause it to make more adaptations faster. Although, I’m about to stick to a very specific program for 12 weeks
@anthonyzhang49182 жыл бұрын
Learning new things and trying weird modalities makes training so much fun. I started with Olympic lifting and in the time I was competing the training style was so dogmatic with just training the lifts and squats, I burned out after a few years and just wasn’t having fun in the gym anymore.
@Chaosdude3412 жыл бұрын
I don't know if, or how Matt would know, but his "So You Think You Can Squat?" series changed how I look at movement analysis. I think I was maybe... 17 or 18, and I'd been deep into reading and learning all kinds of stuff, and it was that first lull where most content was redundant (that I knew how to find), but I became very surprised at how little I knew about a movement I'd been obsessed with learning for the last few years. Thanks, you two.

I'm enjoying the podcast so far. For some reason, I always thought there was beef between Dave and Matt for some reason. Thankfully, this does not appear to be the case. I remember a conversation I had with Dave years ago about something kind of random (rolling out the feet with a lacrosse ball vs. a frozen water bottle. He had a powerade bottle). To this today, I keep a body armour bottle in the freezer in case I need it for my feet.
