@jaycee _ Sorry for the late reply. People who are having a hard time with this product streaking and leaving high spots are applying way to much product. This just like a lot of other products now days a little bit goes a long ways and if applied to heavy you are going to have a bad experience. A damp microfiber will level out any streaking or high spots and you do want to make sure you dry it after using the damp microfiber. Also that will not strip the protection using a damp microfiber but 24 hours of cure time is recommended (like all Si02 products) if it dosen't have a proper cure time then you will see the protection prematurely break down. Personally for the price I would strongly recommend picking some up and giving it a shot to get your own experience using it.

@Do NotComply Did you try applying it like the bottle says and not other channels? If you had that bad of an experience using it I would say you are using way to much product and that will cause the problems that you are describing. A damp microfiber will not strip this product off. Did you dry the area right after you used the damp microfiber and did you also all it 24 hours to cure before letting it get wet or exposed to any other chemicals? I know we all have different experiences with products but I just have a really hard time thinking that you had this bad of an experience with this product.

Good video, but next time, be more mindful not to cross contaminate. Even when drying each side, they should be dried with their own respective towel. You're doing a lot of transferring. You just have to be a little bit more mindful of that.

I think if you had to choose between both great products I'd give the nod to Turtle Wax on this one.I was never a huge fan of turtle wax but they definitely upped their game with the Hybrid solution s line especially at the price range.I think this particular product is their best and among the best in the spray ceramics on the market with quality and the price range.

The fact that you can apply the TW in direct sunlight makes me lean more towards the TW...plus it's cheaper. In real world situations those chemicals won't be exposed to the car, so not very relevant to real world durability, just neat to know. Real world durability you can't go wrong with either as they're practically identical...just in my opinion the ability to apply in direct sunlight and price tips the scales towards TW...but to each his own 😊 these tests sure are fun to watch haha

I use both....i bought Griots on a whim just to compare it w TW Hybrid Ceramic spray....NO....visible diff thus far....i want to apply both to my SUV hood, 1/2 Griots, 1/2 Tw Ceramic....just do a real world endurance and gloss test....I honestly believe u cannot go wrong w either one. I used to cringe...30+ yrs ago w any TW product....i associated the TW brand w economic products, low expectations, thus rarely used. Reading last several years of reviews, how Turtle Wax has a PREMIUM line of products, and Medium cost product line...that have rave reviews, ease of use, gloss and durability. So this year i gave the TW Hybrid-Ceramic product line a try....and was very pleased with everything about it. Years ago i spent considerable elbow grease, polishing and buffing carnuba waxes. Now i am retired, looking for someting easier to apply w my polisher....TW ceramic spray....after investing some elbow grease i n decontaminating prep,and polish...is my new go to product...4 cars done, very pleased...will now give Griots a shot too, may combine them...use Griots after every other car wash.

The Griot's is a great product but I think it does take a bit more elbow grease to buff it down compared to the Turtle Wax. But I do really like both and like you said you cant go wrong with either one. That is so true about the old Turtle Wax product and you almost needed a jack hammer to even get it off your paint! It wasn't a fun product to use and the user experience was not the best. BUT now Turtle Wax has stepped their game up BIG time and their new line up is absolutely awesome and give such a great user experience using and will not wear you out. The new Hybrid line ups is so easy to use and the results and longevity is mind blowing, you can apply in the sun or shade and the product just works so good! Groits wins because you can use it as a drying aide or wet application then rinse off. also on top of that, if you over apply Hybrid solutions it streaks bad but Griots doesn't streak at all ....for these reasons. 3 in 1 wins

Four cleaner's and they to a hit but turtle wax was sheeting alittle quicker. Theres coatings that have to be put on by after learning a class. Honestly for the price maybe a few days before a show and any vehicle would look amazing possibly an award. Great video brother

I love the twcsc, easy application and removal. I personally use a microfiber applicator pad to apply all my products, much easier to control. Using less is more with these types of products. At 15:02 when you're wiping the eagle one in, I think you may be cross contaminating products. I'd try using two microfibers as wipeoffs, one for each side... Just a thought. I'll stick with my TW. Griot’s was highly recommended so I bought a bottle ($19.99 - $5 reward/rebate) for a 22 FP oz. I actually asked my place I take my car to for a hand wash what he thought of it, he never heard of this brands ceramic wax but he used it on my new car after he did the full detail. He was SOOOOOO AMAZED and LOVED it. He’s used other ceramic waxes and said this was so much easier to put on and off and used not too much (he sprayed it on the towel vs the surface). I was supposed to put on another layer the next day but like usual in Florida, it rained both days over the weekend until the evening, so I didn’t. He did offer to put it on again when I come back to get the hand wash because it’s just easy to put on and buff (wipe). I have a steel blue (Hagane is the name) and it was BEAUTIFUL, the gloss was amazing. I call the color the new black because if done right, it shines just as glossy as the black does.

I forgot to comment on this one. Price, Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic 1st. Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic 1st, I personally didn't like the scent of Griots since reminded me like Brut Faberge scent. Ease of application both almost the same but to me Turtle Wax has slightly an advantage since it's less grippy. Availability both the same since you can get them at Pepboys, Advanced Auto or Auto Zone. Durability or chemical resistance, Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic. Both are very reliable brands. You really went out of your way to put together a good comparison and thoughtful presentation. I'm sorry to point out, by using the same towel on each test spot cross contaminated the test. There is definitely some product going on the wrong spot. Could be why both came out the same? Use different towels for each product next time. But good effort!

Easy to put on and take off too. Today I am applying their ceramic spray over the top which i think will be good. 24 hours later i have gone over the car with TW Ceramic spray, went on easy enough but i found it was better to spray the micro fibre rather than the panel. I was left with some streaks when i sprayed the panel, i think i was getting the product too thick at points... never happened when spraying the microfibre. Seems a good product, too i will give it another coat tomorrow.

I also think it is much better to spray it into the microfiber towel for a couple reasons, one it does seem to apply better and a lot more evenly, and two because for me it helps with not over applying it onto a panel, I can do a few sprays on a panel and think its not enough but with a micro fiber towel one spray and I think is a lot. Maybe that is weird but I guess that's how my brain works lol. Glad to hear that you are enjoying it and having a great experience using it as well! Thanks for all of your support buddy!

Good review on the products.Both are excellent quality. I have theTW on my car the last 6 months and it's still has protection on the paint though not as strong as the first 4 months or so. The TW words and definitely improves gloss and slickness and protection.TW is priced lower than most products in this sio2 line.I just bought the Griots ceramic spray and haven't tried it yet.Both brands are right with Meguiars in the top consumer line products and will give great results for the price.

Dumb question, but can wax be applied over these ceramic sprays for an additional shine or just leave well enough alone? But ya, I've used both, and they're both great, If anything I've found that the Turtle Wax stays slicker over time, I can't put anything on the hood without it just sliding right off, I've lost several bottles of cleaners that fall and the product spills all ever the place, but I don't get that with the Grio'ts though. With the Turtle Wax, they say it should last approximately one year, with the Griots 3 in 1, I believe they say it should last around 3 to 6 months. My thoughts are that turtle wax claims their product needs to be polished/compounded off when you want to clear the slate and apply a different product. I used the turtle wax on one of my cars and accidentally over sprayed one panel that was already treated when I was treating the next panel, (I did not notice that until after the second coat cured) and the only way to get the raised spots off would be to polish it out and re-apply. What I like about the 3 in 1 is that you can put it on once every three months or so, and it does not have to be polished off. If you have any raised spots, you simply reapply some product and you’re all set. One last thing, since I am anal about my vehicles… If you apply the turtle wax on your black trim (but did not want to), you can’t polish that off. I feel with the 3 in 1, it’s not as permanent and safer if you make a mistake. Besides, If you’re an enthusiast like I am, you don’t want to set it and forget it for a year… I like playing with different products. One final note - I just saw a three month test between the two on youtube, and the water beading on the 3 in 1out-performed the water beading on the turtle wax ceramic spray coating. Your thoughts?

The Turtle Wax is a very strong product and can cause problems like you are saying. That's why they say in the instructions to spray it into a microfiber towel for application. Not saying that's how I always do it but that will help eliminate the chance of the over the spray problems. They are both really great products and I use both of them, it just comes down to what I am doing and how long I was a protective layer to last. On my daily driver I like to apply something that I can just put on and forget about for a while other than maintenance washes. But on my Chevelle I love to use a Carnuba wax just because I love spending time and getting in that wax and cleaning therapy while enjoying my car. I know water beading gets a lot of attention and it is easy to think that if the beads are not tight and tons of them then the protection is not there but that's not the case. For me playing around with the Turtle Wax after a while it goes from beading more to sheeting more so the protection is still there but its characteristic change a bit over time. My video coming out tomorrow really shows what I am talking about with the beading and sheeting if you would be interested in checking it out. I first used the TW Hybrid Solution Spray Ceramic Coating about 7 months ago on both of my cars. I used the TW Spray Ceramic Coating after using their TW Hybrid Polish/Wax, and so far, I would highly recommend these products. I can't speak for the Griot's products, never used it, but the cost for me would be prohibitive. The TW Hybrid S.C.C. cost about 2-3 times less, and it works extremely well, why should I change? I really like your videos, keep up the Great Work!

I recently got my car paint corrected and didnt want to get a full ceramic coating on it and preferred to just buy one of these spray ons and ended up buying the turtle wax hybrid solutions and put 2 coats on my car and was very easy to apply. My question is, can you apply too much of this product? Because I was thinking of applying it every 3 months, would this be OK, or is it just better to see when I wash my car and if it stops beading then I know for sure its time to reapply it?

How did you prep the paint? Chemical resistance is not very accurate. Real world durability is what it’s all about. I saw a credible real world durability test and the 3-1 clearly outlasted TW.

I use an IPA mix to prep it before every torture test. Using chemicals gives us a good base line and understanding how tough a product is but for video sake doing a real world test takes too long. Its seems like you always started with the Turtle...put slightly more rubs on the Turtle...abused the Turtle slightly more. But in the end...The Turtle seemed to slightly edge out the Griots. Lots of slightlies here but they do add up.

Dont sleep on TW products.They were around way before I started driving in the 80s and have continued to uphold their lofty standards without breaking my pockets. I also like Griots products as well.I have used the Best In Show Wax and Detailer as well as the Speed Shine.Both quality companies

I just recently used the turtle Wax ceramic coating I absolutely love it but I've only done one coat I'm going to have to do that one coat then 24 hours and then do another coat it's just one coat make one hell of a difference awesome product and super easy to work with

Because metallic paint will show off the clarity that a paint protection product will have.

Decon wash, clay bar if needed, polish if needed and then just spray on and wipe off. These products will last a good six months.

By the end of the torture test the untreated center section was sheeting as quickly the treated side sections. Does that mean all the wiping and rinsing was spreading the chemicals onto the untreated center section?

I do think that was happening and I didn't realize it when I was filming. In the future I think I will use different microfiber towels for each side to keep that from happening. Using a damp towel is a bad recommendation for applying the Griots 3-in-1. Besides SIO2, it contains Carnuba wax, which if you have any water in your application, is gonna leave streak marks/swirls in the finish after application. This isn't an opinion, its been tried and tested. That's also why you can't use it as a drying aid either, unlike some other spray on Ceramic protectants/detailers.

Thanks, what a great video. One of the best products review I have ever seen! When my car was totally new they made pro level coating for it in the car shop fixing. My plan is to help coating with some simple solution like this. Do you think it is good idea. Just very good cleaning and then adding the protection? Repeat after 24 hours. Or should I just wait another year with original coating and be happy :-) My car coating is still amazing and runs water perfectly. Very easy to clean and so on. Dries very easily with a blower or just driving.

I would use either one of these product of your choice after a good wash and if your coating is still holding up great like you said I would only do one application. This will help put life back into your coating and keep it lasting longer by doing a maintenance step like this. I would say every 5 to 6 months hit it again with another application and you will have crazy life span out of your coating. @@MeanBee392 I have been using Griots for 6 months now and it does very well against dried bug guts. After the first application I would just spray a little on the bumper full of dead bugs and they wipe right off, with little to no working the paint. I am very happy with it so far.
