Since the wave length is so short on the millimeter ham bands why not make computer chips or printed circuits for receivers for the band? They are making anticollition radar for cars in the millimeter bands.

Ein tolles Video! Vielen Dank. Es macht Spaß den Klang der CW-Signale auf 122 GHz zu hören :-) 73, DL8LAQ

you see a video cut from our ham radio activity on the 19th of October 2013 over a radio path of 132 km. We have started with 24 GHz to align the antennas both sides and have made QSO´s on 47, 76 and 122 GHz. On 122 GHz we have used plain CW only, TX Pout=1mW, RX-NF unknow, gain of 1,2m dish=60db. Visibility was in the range of 250 km, we estimated a atmospheric loss of 0,28 db/km. Equipment was referenced to GPS which solved the frequency problem. TNX for watching, 73 de OE3WOG + Team

I have seen in other 122 GHz videos that the signals have a "warbling" quality to them. Is this related to the propagation at 122 GHz? Congrats on your excellent contact!

I can not say for sure, but I think these are the oscillators. If the quartz oscillator fluctuates by only 0.1 herz, then this results in a variation of 100 herz on the final frequency. I believe this is the reason for this "warbling" 73 de OE5VRL

Is the modulation window and modulation sistem, analog fans hate digital word and no PLL control.

It sounds a little bit like rain scatter. I wish you further success with your 122 GHz projects. Nice video.

Phase noise in the oscillators becomes a problem when you're multiplying signals up so high.

@Rudi5VRL
