The offshore radio days of the 60's were a magical time to listen to the radio. The real Radio Caroline North on 199 and 259 was my favourite station along with Radio Scotland. Saw thw Fredericia every day walking along the Mooragh Prom in my home town of Ramsey. Try Radio Seagull on 747Khz AM from their radio lightship the Jenni Baynton. Nice video. 🇮🇲

@@tillyupnorth where I live on IoM listening to Manx Radio on 1368Khz is difficult as I live under the signal as there are a few smaller mountains that shield me from getting a decent signal so listen on FM. I need to go into town to get a decent AM signal. Yes, it was great looking out to see RCN out in the bay and seeing the tender come into Ramsey Harbour with djs coming ashore and the replacement djs heading out to the ship. I had the pleasure of Meeting Ronan a few times on a one to one basis. He felt safe on the island. It's ironic that Manx Radio's managing director is an ex Caroline dj.

Not sure what has happened to the 292 (Germany) signal this last year, I could pick them up most of the day on 9670 kHz for a long time then they suddenly dropped down into the hash. 6130 also a solid signal here too. 73 Franco

I built myself a radio studio and have done a couple of broadcasts over the internet but before that I had a brief show on a local FM station Nova FM a in Newport Shropshire… loved it …but I want to build myself a low power AM Transmitter using valves to transmit on specific frequencies on the MF (MW) band and then to receive it on one of my valve receivers.. I can weaken the signal so much to introduce noise and that way if I plug my studio into the transmitter it might be an interesting experiment… I’m not a pirate but I feel that when the BBC eventually give up Radio from the LW frequency along with the last remainders like Max Radio (it will be a very sad day) but maybe our mission here will be to encourage new Radio Caroline’s of the future….
