At the beginning of the problem, the problem was shown on the upper left side of the screen but when you were solving the subtrahend it was gone. It would be easier to go through the problem with you if you leave the problem up there for the viewer to see to better follow along with the lesson. But loved how simple and clear you showed how to do the activity.

The purpose is obvious - teaching dynamic subtraction (passage to abstraction) with the Small Bead Frame.

Whoa Kate, play nice! Rebiye, the bead frame is the third math material to use when teaching subtraction. It helps to move the child toward abstraction with this operation. There are other materials used to help the student memorize subtraction facts.
