I left all of the footage in its raw format and speed, but as many of you may already know KZbin does allow you to play with it. In the bottom right corner on the Gear icon, you can select different speeds. 0.25X is a decent (but choppy) slow motion to see more details where you want to focus. Somewhere between 1.25X and 1.5X is what he looks like during a competitive match. 2X is just plain fun. I apologize for not flipping my camera to 60Hz mode, nor 4K but it still turned out pretty great at 1080p at 30 HZ.

This is a perfect example of hitting through the ball. He’s not “brushing up the back of the ball”, that’s the worst advice ever. Instead, he’s using the low to high swing path and controlling the racquet face to hit THROUGH the shot.

Well when you have an eastern grip your swing is naturally going to be much more horizontal than verticle, if you have a semi western or a full western brushing up behind the ball isn't entirely wrong.

Look at his wrist action on the topspins. He starts forward action on backhand with the wrist bent back in a j-shape and ends it with the wrist laid back having flipped over the arm. Does exactly the same thing in reverse on the forehand. I tried it and it is as easy as it looks.

You can totally see the difference btw a "starter" pro player and a veteran pro player in this video. Compared to his partner, Roger's racket head acceleration/deceleration is way smoother and more efficient. His swings have strength in it but only when needed－instant before contact to instant after contact. The rest 80% of the time, his swings are very relaxed and fluent, impressive. And he can keep playing quality shots same level as his partner's while in a much more relaxed manner !

FA-A has a nice pace in his groundstrokes but quite a lot of mistakes. Plenty of spin in that FH but the double backhand is very flat and he is often too close to the ball. But damn, living the dream at 17.

It was especially interesting hearing him hint that he had a hard time keeping up with the old man technically, but also physically. Fed's more efficient. Reads the game better, thus can take the ball earlier. Moves less than others (except when he struggles against exceptionally good baseliners). And has better offensive weapons than most. He obviously works hard, but I doubt many others can replicate his innate ability in this regard and I'm almost certain that many who struggle against him actually work harder.

It was just the default recording setting. 1080p @ 30 fps. I could have done up to 4k at 60 fps, but had limited space available on the phone. I was in the front row of seats about 8 feet above the court. The challenge was getting to the right court way ahead of time to avoid the 1000s of people who couldn't even get into the stands. What day was this? I was there from the Quarters. On Thursday, he was scheduled to practice on the court in this video, then suddenly, his practice was moved to Stadium 1. 15Stratos no Roger is never off the kid is a lousy practice partner. He sprays the ball all over. Roger is just looking for rythm practice to groove his stroke . If you know about baseball it's like batting practice... Nothing to hard just trying to get the sweet spot. Kid is throwing curves in BP. Roger is a little irked but humoring him. Probably thinking never again. Watch Roger warm up with Stan or Gasquet you'll notice how it's done.
