To appreciate what you are watching, one must play the game. The ease with which depth, direction and speed of shot are controlled and maintained for rallies of 20 + shots is a thing of beauty which will not be seen again when he finally hangs up the racquet. It is the art form of a Master.

Sir, that's the point of perfect tennis shot! You need to relax you arm and use it as a "whip" to obtain spin, power and accuracy.
@kxr_s4 жыл бұрын
Almin Jahic how do you aim and apply perfect spin? I think of it as a whip but it’s so uncomfortable
@ianthebubbian61824 жыл бұрын
@@kxr_s The essence of a whip is not having to use any effort at all, but producing a "snap" at the end without actually using it. If you let the racquet head drag through the entire stroke, and lead the stroke by rotating your hips (the base of the stroke) rather than through your shoulders or wrist, it creates the effect of the whip naturally.

1. The number of balls he hits at middling warm-up pace is a lot. Much more than club level players like me who are eager to get to full pace balls. 2. His warm up balls have a lot of spin and shape. Still plenty of racket head speed. He doesn't start to flatten out his shots consistently for 7-8 minutes, and then he's still mostly hitting up the middle. A very gradual progression. 3. He keeps his feet moving constantly from the very start of the warm up.

When Federer hits the ball you hear a very high pitched sound. Is it because he uses significantly higher string tension than ours ordinary club players'?
@omki25049 жыл бұрын
Nah higher string tension gives a more control oriented strike while lower is more power oriented. He wouldn't be able to hit effortless power and spin with a high strung tension.
@watcher6879 жыл бұрын
greatest ever I agree with what you're saying, it makes sense. I still don't understand how that high pitch sound is produced. It's like a wooden board hitting a hard solid ball. I hear that sound only with pro tennis players.
@omki25049 жыл бұрын
I think it's the fact that he doesn't use a shock absorber or vibration damper you know that little thing you see at the bottom of the strings (in case you don't know what that is)
@watcher6879 жыл бұрын
greatest ever I always hear the same sound when I watch them live during practice sessions as well. . Maybe the reason is that they hit much harder than the recreational level players. Yes, the damper makes a difference too.
@omki25049 жыл бұрын
Probably but the are multiple factors attributing to the sound, it could be the courts and stadiums giving off different acoustics and where ever they hit the sound from the other side will always be different.
