A momma friend who has 7 kiddos said something to me that I think about weekly. I’m doing my best. So somebody may not be happy. But at the end of the day, I close my eyes and go straight to sleep with a wonderful conscience because I’m doing my best. It may not look like someone else’s journey but it’s my best. This too shall pass. I won't go into detail or time-frames. I'm continuing to work on myself and a marriage that blew up in my face in a traumatic manner as well. It's worth the time and effort. I journal, read and study my Bible, I write out Scripture (I'm in 7 Scripture writing groups on FB) I walk, when weather permits, I crochet. Glory to God Most High 🩷🩷🙏🙏🩷🩷

When my grandmother hosted thanksgiving, she used the once a year dishes and I remember all the work going into getting everything set up and alllllll the clean up afterwards. Then when my mom started hosting when my grandmother got too old to do it, she started out with regular everyday dishes, but ones that still needed washing. Now she’s older and we’re to the point of using paper (or styrofoam/plastic) stuff and it’s so much easier and people are able to enjoy themselves so much more instead of hours spent in the kitchen washing everything.

Love sharp shopper, shopping hauls. I didn't see disposable silverware. I know not environmentally correct, I do it 2x's a year .When I host lots of people, it use to be fancy plates, silver silverware, festive glassware. It would be 2hrs washing everything we used and 3 hrs washing this stuff another 1+ hours for serving bowls and pots & pans. In my older age, one of the things that I have learned is spending your energy and time with the people. Very few have asked about place settings. They were my elders. Now it is festive paper plates, disposable silverware, the sturdy kind and either red solo cups or right out of the bottle of water. No alcohol is served, so solo cups enough. After food roll up table clothes, with paper products and trash it all. Set down new table cloth for.dessert

Color me weird. Those heavy duty toss away silverware? I "salvage" them all and rewash for everyday use-especially with my work lunches. I've gotten older with many "life" physical injuries that I find are limiting my ability to deal with "weight" concerning my cooking utensils, including plates and such. Those disposable Glad Ware black plastic containers with lids are my favorite things to grab and use when I make something to eat. The lids are even utilized as sandwich holders and they work well with chips covered with melted cheese. My hands thank me everyday.

We only use paper plates and plastic utensils for bday parties and large events, the general rule for washing up is Whoever cooked, doesn't clean up its down to everyone else. Our recycling tubs couldn't handle daily paper plates🙈

I live in upstate New York. I have family in Shenandoah River valley I visit often n my husband and I drop into PA for business. If there's a Sharp shopper within 45 minutes of our destination I always stop. It is one of the ways I keep our grocery budget low. One meal for 30 is a breeze, try 3 days of meals for a family of 33 children and spouses, grandchildren and spouses, and great grandchildren plus my husband and myself. July family reunion time in MS.
