Hermit hoedown. 😁 Have you tried dipping any of the struggling euphyllia in an antiseptic dip such as Revive or Reef Dip? Revive is plant-based and Reef Dip is basically iodine. It’s possible some bacteria were introduced with your coral foster-to-adopt activity, and euphyllia are random bacteria magnets. And bacterial infections can spread. Which might explain why it’s here and there in your system. It’s definitely worth upgrading your test kits imo, since you have serious water volume and lots of potential with the specimens you have, once things are back on track. I firmly believe testing saved my tank from crashing, because I was able to pinpoint what was happening and where. 🤷♀️I use Hanna for ULR Phosphate, calcium, and Alk and Salifert for magnesium and nitrate. 👍🏻👍🏻 Nice to hear from you, and good luck!

Hi Pete its been a while. I was wondering where did you go lol...Sorry to hear about your coral and fish losses...i am glad you got the ACP test done on your tank which will help you narrow down your problems and find solutions to get them rectified. Yeah those API testkits are not reliable. I would use Salifert for Ca, Mag, Nitrate and Henna Checker ULR for Phosphates and Henna as well for Alk...Good luck pal...

those hermits may have eaten those montis. I had to evict all my hermits last year after they decided to start eating on some sps corals. just a thought. thanks for sharing!

Funny, just last week I was telling my dad, who is likely my biggest fan on youTube, I need to do a video on why i haven't done videos recently... Problem is I don't really have a good response there. Just been busy with other stuff, I guess. I do greatly appreciate you reaching out, though, I am just one of 6k subs you have, so that is really an honor

It looks like the soft coral you added is Cespitularia. Used to be a really rare softy going for $100+ a frag. Why are you still using crap test kits if you know they are crap? I saw some saliferts on the shelf. Use those instead. They are much more reputable. When you find a decent brand stick with them because it won't matter if they are slightly off they should always be consistent. Nothing unusual on the ICP? Have you eliminated pests as a possibility on the euphilliyas? you might want to try dipping them for pests, and dipping with an iodine based dip to help with any damaged tissue and prevent infection.

Thanks for the coral ID. I looked for it on line, I see folks selling "blue" strains of it. I don't see much blue on mine, but more green. Is it better to test with crappy kits than not test at all? I feel it is. The Salifert kits are off elements (Mg, I, K), all of which lined up well with the ICP results. I will do the dipping you suggest on the euphyllia. Thanks as always for the feedback!

"dead heads", "weed" and "mushrooms"? What kind of video is this lol? But seriously, I hope you get it back on track bud. API is ok to find a big problem but not good for dialing in dosers
