You know, that big hammer really balances the look of everything....I like it! And CONGRATULATIONS on your big win! That’s the prize I coveted most.... What about putting it on the back, in the center facing forward? You’d get some good random flow given the positions of the returns and the other 2 powerheads. The only thing I’ve heard to be cautious about, is the openness of the basket - large openings that tend to suck creatures into the impeller. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen a foam guard you can get for that....👍🏻👍🏻

So the back is a problem, in that I can't get a hand down there. I can probably get enough of a reach to touch a magnet to the glass, but if that magnet comes off... I will be fishing for magnets... I need to think that through some more. Did you notice my current wave pumps are secured to the corner overflows? I have already lost a magnet down the sides, and so currently, the magnets are in the overflow, where I can retrieve them. That works with a pump that swivels, but won't work for the Nero. I will have to look into the foam guard, that's a good idea to keep critters out.

Ooh, I see what you mean. I use metal curtain rods to retrieve magnets from the floor behind my tank. Happens to me because Jebao nano wave makers aren’t designed to be used with 1/2” glass. Oops. Could you somehow tether the magnet from above and push it down with a stick or something, until it’s where you want it? I’m assuming you can reach across above the tank rim from inside your upper doors.... 🤔

Since my reply, that's what I was thinking. I should hot glue a string onto all magnets I push down the side or back of the tank, then I can pull it back when it comes free.

I was picturing gluing twine (because it’s a rough surface that wouldn’t “slip” out from under the glue) around the circumference so there’d be 2 ends above the magnet, kind of like a cradle, to distribute the force when the string is pulled...🤔 Hot glue sounds perfect!

Thanks man, I'm listening to Billy's stream this evening about Dave. I know you visited him in person, i remember commenting on the video that I wanted to hang with him like you did. So sad...

@@laminar_flow I actually rewatched that video last night after watching Billy's stream. I'm so bummed out.

Congratulations again! I second the vote for the Nero on one side and the other two on one side. My LFS has the Nero on one side of a 180 gallon and it rocks! How does your alkalinity look? My leathers always look sad and withdrawn when my alk is low or too high. I have also found that my leathers like flow.

Thanks Larie! I am pretty sure the leather issue is not water, since they do fine in the basement frag tank.

And your pistol shrimp and goby are revealing your secrets....my clownfish have unearthed the egg crate under the rocks in their corner empire...🙄

My egg crate went in during my build after watching you add it in your build. I have less fear of cracking bottom glass with it in place. Thanks for watching to the end!

Thanks Mo, so to be clear, back of the tank, facing front, or like on the right corner overflow, facing left.
